Sicamous Avalanche

This is a very tragic event.
There is no need to come on here and start talking about how it could have been avoided when nobody really knows the details. Save that for a later date, and a different thread. Just let it go.
Its always tough to lose a fellow sledder. RIP.

Exactly. Well said.

I truly DREAD these kinds of threads! :(

My deepest sympathies to the friends and family. :brokenheart:

RIP Revdawg! :rose:

x2 !
Sympathies to families, friends, and all those who were with him. I've been there and had to dig out a friend who died in an avalanche and those memories are burned into my vision forever.

Thank you to everyone who has been here for us in our time of need. Chad was my best friend and my lover, my heart has been broken and will never heal. I remember the first time Chad took me sledding, I never understood what the big deal was until your standing on the top of the world. I got to experience pure bliss and I thank him everyday for sharing those moments with me. I am never going to forget my babes he was and always will be he greatest man in my life. So thank you to those again who are here for us when we need you the most.

I love you Chad and miss you so much baby!

So sorry Crystal............ this is brutal.........

I just found this....very sad here. I've sledded and quadded with "Twodogs" (my fun name for him) several times in the last few years, and used to go hang at his work shop all the time. Just traded e-mails with him 5 days ago....deepest condolances Crystal.

Crystal, your post was truly heartbreaking and I am sitting here with tears in my eyes as I write this. I want to offer my condolences and let you know that there are lots of us that care and we are all hurting too.
I also wanted to thank you for coming on here and publishing such an honest and clear view of how this affects you. Intentional or not, you left a very simple but extremely powerful message. For that, I thank you and all of our loved ones thank you as well.

I didnt know chad other than having seen his posts on here but things like this really make you realize how much we take for granted sometimes, and how quickly our lives can change. So sorry for your loss Crystal. I know words cannot possibly heal what your going through just know that you are in our prayers.

If you have a moment in your today say a prayer for chad and his family and loved ones.

i have not one thing that i could type that would do justice to this thread and crystals post.

that was hands down one of the saddest and greatest posts I have ever read on this site.

Sorry for your loss crystal, hang in there you got a lot of people thinking of ya. And thank you so much for coming on and posting that.

Good newspaper story on Chad.

I hope this link works or you may have to copy and paste http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/lo...led-rescuing-his-injured-friend-82142652.html

This link gives a way better picture of the story on Chad.
He was a very good friend and grew up about 35 miles from me. Hell of a guy. He went as a hero trying to help a fellow rider who was already hurt with leg infuries before the avalanche hit Chad and Ray [the guy with the leg injuries].
Never thought twice just went to help.

So sorry Crystal.

I am still in shock. When i first heard of this tragity my first reaction was how could this happen, Chad was hands down the best snowmobile rider i ever rode with and had tons of experience in the mountains. Then i heard he was rescuing a friend in need. That didn't suprise me as Chad would do anything for anybody, even if that meant risking his own life. All heart, not a mean bone in his body. I feel honoured to call him my friend. Why is it always the good ones, its just not fair. My deepest sympathys to all his friends and family, you will be sadly missed by all that knew you.
