Don't hate me, I am a skier. Don't get me wrong I love to sled but when I look at the side of a hill while on my sled I can't stop and think about how fun it would be to rip that line on my powder skis. After that split second, I grab a handful of throttle and rip up that line I just saw!

Understanding(not condoning) skiers attitudes, I think that there is a lot of wilderness out there to share and we all have a right to use it any way we want, even the xc skiers(I still don't see how that's fun). Please don't use me for traction, I am allergic to 3 inch paddles whacking me in the face!

i got news for you guys, a$$holes are everywhere!!!! on skiis, sleds, boards, you name it there out there..... i will say though, ive ran into a lot more douche bag sledders in the backcountry the douche bag skiers. i used to ski, then i bought a sled. the planks are on the shelf and the throttle is in my hand. i mean when was the last time some DB skier threw up a huge highmark right above you???? how about just about getting takin out by some DB skier doing 70mph on the inside of a blind corner on the trail???
maybe its just the way things go in the koots, but it seems from my expierence jow blow skier is usually a lot more respectful then joe blow sledder......
but i did vote to kill the skiers, cause ive always wanted to use a howtizer, nm driving a battleship!!!!!!

My wife got me into CC skiing cuz she loves it, actually I don't mind I can use the exersize. So I usually sled one day ski the other. I told my bro last weekend while we were rippin it up on the sleds that I was going skiing the next day and if I saw any sleds on the trail I was going to hit them with my ski pole. Ha. So on the days I don't ski, yes by all means kill em all.

I suppose my username gives me away. I use my sled for snowboarding access. I've left my board in the truck maybe 2 times in 3 years of snowmoboarding. I'm much more into snowboarding than sledding, but I have a great time with my 04' RMK. All my sled/board buddies poke fun at me for being a bit of a sledhead, but they quit laughing when I fix their sleds or ride their sled out of whatever they stuck it into, haha.

I've never had an issue with any skiers or sledders (except my own riding partners:nono:). I have heard alot of bad stories about the cross country skiers though.

So, kill all the skiers (watch out for us splitboarders though! we look like skiers when we're going uphill). Let the boarders live:face-icon-small-ton.

I hear the World Organization of Backcountry Skiers™ has perfected the Electro-Magnetic Pulse from a ski pole technology.

I'd be careful if I were you.

Booga Booga!

I think you're missing the point a skosh....

Are there dumba$$es on sleds? Sure there are, but that's not Dogmeat's point. How often do you see self-righteous snowmobilers protesting the recreation choices of other people?

There is something about skiing that attracts people suffering from Liberalism (a well documented mental disorder). Liberals feel superior to the rest of us (how a 140lb male with a 13 inch neck can feel superior is beyond me, but I digress) and these misplaced feelings of superiority lead them to believe they are entitled to impose their ideas (because they're smarter) on the rest of us.

Maybe they ski because all that chai tea and free range tofu has left them too weak to throw a sled around.

The real answer, of course is not to harm them physically, but politically. That means put on a shirt without any holes in it, slap a tic-tac in your mouth and go to public meetings on land use and present our case in a calm, rational manner. It means helping pro-access candidates for public office and working hard against anti-access candidates.

*tsk tsk* I'm disappointed in this thread ... I thought more of you would be on my side.

Im on your side...they make real nice throw rugs....hahaha jk!

Most of the boarders/skiers are cool where I ride, but there is some that id like to show the under side of my sled to if you get what I mean :whip:...Just respect one another and tear it up!

Sleds are better though :high5:

Can't speak for all skiers but I know that the cross country variety make for good traction. They are a little smelly but if you pin it over them, the oder cannot catch up.

Man, I have to hope the stereotype about skiers is as off as what mine was about snowmobilers before I started. We have quite a few backcountry skiers around here that use sleds as a means to access the places they want to ski, or kiteboard, or ice climb. I doubt those people would argue against snowmobile access anywhere. I will say that the skiing public can be prone to some liberal lines of thought, but I have seen some pretty badazz dudes who ski. I have seen guys ride some pretty extreme terrain to get to a place on their sled, then park it and HIKE another 1000 vertical feet before they drop in. If you have to eat tofu and drink chai tea to do that, then sign me up. So, what was the point of the original post? Kill all skiers? I'll pass. Lumping them into one group by us would be as irresponsible as skiers lumping us into a group that consists of drunken, neon coat wearing, fat azz rednecks who race around trails at 90 mph. Just my humble, though.

This question and thread is pretty lame. This is exactly the skiers vision of a snowmobiler.

The biggest snowmobile trail system in my area runs up to a ski area. There is a play section that used to be open to sleds that is now closed. Mainly so skiers can ski "out of bounds." The skiers wind up on the trail system, rope in hand, wanting a pull back to the top, via the narrow trail that is left for snowmobiles. Now maybe not all of them, (skiers,) fought to close this area, but there brethren did. Kill them, no, but if you think you get the area, and a free ride to the top, pound sand..
