Should I Buy one?

Id start by asking them if they are EFI or Carb and how many miles the 900s have, flip it over check the underside make sure its up to par, Im sure some guys can give you some motor info thats not my strong suit.

These sleds look pretty used, If I were you Id keep looking you might be able to find a little better conditioned sled for the price, If had to choose one from the info Id go with the black 900, but if oyu dont care about power it might be nice to have that trailer :face-icon-small-hap

I live here in Bend. Where you from? I would do like recommended above and find a good 2005-2006 M7 for around $3K. They are out there. Those above are all heavy sleds and the technology came a long ways when the M's came out in '05. Good luck in your search.

4185 will buy a 07 m1000 in bend.

That may be one to consider!

More info: I primarily use a sled to get to places to ski and I pretty much only ski powder. Sometimes I need to get to the top of something to ski the other side of it, but I wonder if I really need all kinds of power when my goal isn't speed or highmarking, etc.

With my limited knowledge of sleds I think a mountain sled with moderate power and light weight is what I need. I do ride on trails a lot (to get above timberline) but don't want to be stuck on a short track when I am seeking powder to ski. Any thoughts?

have 04 900 162 go any where sled but also have new m8 snow pro new chassi pretty fun compared ,those king cats kinda tempermental if in good shape motor wise lots of hp for the buck and easy to work on and tough sled good luck

I would buy this M1000 it's a great deal

in the 2 or 3 range,you cant beat a m7 for 3000.a older 1m is a good sled too.but i wouldnt spend over 2000 for one.

I have a buddy right now here in Bend that would let his 2006-M7 go for $3500. He has never had one problem with it and it runs awesome. He is wanting a M8 for next year.

if i was goona buy one of the 900s i would go with the king cat better resale value titanium springs or go with an M series like these other guys are saying m7 with a 162 will go pretty much anywhere and the 700 is a long running motor from what i here got a buddy with around 7000 on his

I assume you havent ridden much. If this is the case, get an M series for sure. Any extra $$ will be well worth it in the amount of frusteration saved. Learning on an older 900 is like skiing on skinny skis if you know what I mean...

If you are going to buy one of the non "M" series go for the one that is rebuilt from Steve. That guy is the best arctic cat mechanic I have ever seen and you can put your money behind any rebuild he touches. If you can scrape together some more cash then look pick up the '07 M1000. It will be well worth it. I have owned both and '05 King and now an '08 M1000 and the M is amazing compared to the King.

OK, Here's the dilemma:

An '05 M6 for (he wants $3500) $3200, "very clean," with 2600 miles, 153" track

OR

an '06 M7 for $3700 with 2000 miles with a 162"

Here's the thing: I don't do hill climbs just for the fun of it. I will use this sled mostly for access to skiing powder where other skiers can't go or ride it for fun if the skiing sucks. I will occasionally tow other skiers on roads or trails. So, I think I'd do better with the medium track and a little less power. Not sure.

Are there any other things to consider? What should I focus on when checking out these sleds? I'm going to look at the M6 tonight and I can't see the M7 until next week.
