Short video by Polaris from 2013 Launch Day!

OK. Try this: Make a vid of real world riders, guys that pay their own way and aren't swayed by free sleds, guys that won't lose their sponshurship or job if they said the sled sucked as$.
I have ridden with CoyoteGirl and Modsledr.. even partied at their house back when I had a social life. They are real people, who love snowmobiling. They are real world riders.

EVERY SINGLE one of those riders said close to the same thing back when they were sponsored by other sled makers.
So do you think any negatives that they said would not be edited out of the video? Maybe they did say something and it didn't make the cut?

Have you ridden it? Maybe it is so awesome it will do all those things, and even make you breakfast in the morning too! :face-icon-small-ton

I say cool vid with some cool peeps.. kind of feel famous as Modsledr helped me get my nytro unstuck one day.. ha ha.

They get paid, compensated and what not.

Do you really think they would say something negative on tape? I don't.

I have ridden one. or two.

I think any one of those riders would tout Cat or Doo if paid.

PJ are you saying that ALL of those riders are paid to make those comments in that vid?

I understand that Sessions is different, but correct me if I'm wrong, cause I might be.....
Doesn't Phatty ride a m8?
Turbolover is paid or sponsored?
Modsldr?
Coyote?
Others?
I don't think MHorse is paid, he just has the connections to new info.

I was invited to be on that ride too, but I couldn't afford the airline ticket. And I seem to remember that I don't get free sleds. In fact, I'm still riding a 2001 sled.

"It's revolutionary" said at least 20 times a year by the same sponsored riders, even when on other sleds

"It will change Mountian riding forever"

bla bla bla. These sleds are so close to even out of the box you cannot honestly make a claim like that.

Also REASON NUMBER ONE AS TO WHY YOU RIDE AND SUPPORT THOSE SLEDS:

THEY FRICKING PAY YOU AND GIVE YOU SEVERAL FREE SLEDS A YEAR!

LOL!

Dan Adams held the camera in my face the next day at Seeley and told me point blank to say what I didn't like.

I wasn't afraid to say a couple of things.

Are they less inclined to speak up if the camera is bigger or their name is big?

Hate to break it to you PJ, but none of the 6 riders there are, or ever were, paid by a manufacturer. None of us receive "several free sleds a year" (I'm still on my 2008 D7). We all paid our own way to Utah for the oportunity to be the first to ride the 2013, and get actual face-time with the engineers. The only thing Polaris paid were the rooms at the hotel, which they already had reserved for the dealer conference going on at the same time.

They were adament that we be open and honest about our opinions...I meant every word i said...the 2013 is the best mountain sled ever produced.

We are all just passionate sled-junkies. We all go to several snow-shows each year...some as vendors (Phatty, 2Fun4U, CoyoteGirl), and some just because we're junkies!! (Mountainhorse, Turbolover, myself).

Maybe before making a post like this, you should do a little research, so you actually know what you're talking about.

Great vid and approach to selling a "new" sled. I think the other manufacturers could learn a lesson or two from this: get the machines on the snow and let real people ride them before you try to sell them!

My only complaint: they spelled the town I was born in wrong. Hehe, anybody else notice this?:face-icon-small-dis:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-win

Good job Polaris. Give me a blue one with with some boost and 174x3" track and I'm in!:face-icon-small-win

It's a goofy video with goofy riding. They should have ask me to bring my handicam and my GoPro. I would have been like look here you dingleberries. You... hit that f'ing chute and stop being such a puzzy! You over there... put your big girl panties on and drop that cornice before I have to send you back to the truck and find a real rider to replace you. You... wipe the snot off your nose, stop sniveling, and hammer them whoops right before you smack that kicker you girlyman! We didn't bring you posers out here to ride around the parking now snap snap ladies!

LMAO...I only brought my riding skirt and thong with me...left my big girl panties at home.

So Burandt doesn't get paid? LOL

Some may not get a free sled, but they get something. Super discounted cost for the $14000 sled.

The problem I see here is: All of you are Polaris folks, tried and true. How can you make a claim that the Polaris is hands down, the BEST sled around and it will dominate any other mountain sled in it's class? Have you ridden the 2013 PRO-CLIMB, the 2013 Summit XM.

I can tell you I have ridden the 2012 PRO and it's a nice sled. Will it dominate? No. The only way domination will happen is if a rider dominates another rider. I'd bet that Phatty could kick my as$ on my XP and I on his PRO.

Looking at all of the YouTube vids from Doo and Poo I find it funny that every rider says the same exact thing about their sled of choice. Domination, revolutionary, innovative, ridiculous, etc.

People can say they aren't brand loyal, but in all honesty it's a lie. I like my Doo. I built it and I ride it and I can guarantee you, it's been put in the same place as PROs this season and more often than not, it got there first. WHY? Cause I can ride it. Would I love to ride all three and compare. Hell yes and I'd be honest.

Here's an idea. Get members from each brand camp and make them ride the opposite camps sled. ALL WEEKEND. Then the quirks, likes, dislikes and crap will surface.

Slednecks, Thunderstruck, MountainModMania, 509, and all the others just called: they want you front and center in all their videos next year. They say you have mad skills and that they must have sledding's biggest star in their movies!:cheer2::wave::loco::thumb::first::crazy::noidea::doh:

Burandt wasn't there, and he's not in the video that this post is about.

I need to watch again, but pretty sure nobody claimed that this sled is "hands down, the BEST sled around and it will dominate any other mountain sled in it's class"...you can read into it if you want, but nobody claimed these things...what was said is that the 13 Pro is the easiest sled to ride that any of us have ridden. That's it.

My last sled was a Boosted Yamaha Nytro. Before that, '04 Rev with an 1150, before that, Polaris Wedge with an 809 from a mach-z in it...I'm the furthest thing from brand loyal you will ever meet.

Phatty was on Arctic Cat for the last 3 years. 2Fun4U was also on AC until this year.

I'm glad you like the sled that you built, that you are emotionally attached to. But the bottom line is that if you take a rider and give them an easier sled to ride, they will be a better rider.

Polaris and Ski-Doo are both making effort to give us sleds that do what we want with less effort...we all win!!

I got to ride an AC 1100 turbo this last weekend...felt just like my Nytro, to no huge leap forward there.

I saw the vid that she posted on Facebook. Assumed it was the same one, and yeah CB is plastered all over it.

Yes, I know who was on what 3 years ago, they switched.

Keep in mind, I'm not blasting PRO. I'm just more tired of everywhere I click it's "PRO THIS, PRO THAT" and then there are the PROlaris sheep that do nothing that bash, insult and criticize Doo for their hard work on sleds too. The XP is and has been a very capable chassis with a very strong motor. The PRO is a very capable chassis. The motor? Well, lets just say that just last week I had yet another friend lose his 2012 motor and is out for 4 weeks.

And I'm sorry you rode the Cat 4 stroke, but that's like comparing a rock to an apple. Can't be done. All season long I have seen my riding group do some pretty amazing stuff on their sleds, and we have an XP, an M8, a Pro-Climb 8, a couple of Pros and a custom IQR.

IMO, hearing about the PRO is getting to be as annoying as Tim Tebow. It's just a sled, as all of the others are. It won't change the face of snowmobiling. The only thing that will do that is us. We, as a collective and passionate group of riders need to stop fawning over the factory crap and focus our attention on the fight to keep lands open so we can ride our sleds.

You forgot Ralph an 04 440 136 hill-x which is by far a better sled than all these new sofas including the "pro". I get off my sled and ride other sleds every chance I get. They don't compare. The 440 chassis was the pinicle of sled chassis design and then the goobers stepped in and started complaining about rider too far forward this and how they were skeered going down steep hills that they might flip over the bars or stick a ski that and where are the cup holders and so the mfgs digressed into producing the fatboy sleds we now have today. I'll stick with my bars over the skis/in the chest 04 440 until mfgs pull their heads out and start building sleds for riders and not couch potatos.

Its one thing to talk about the sled...taking digs on the people who got an opportunity to ride and be in a promo...kinda weak.

Jealousy turned to hate....never gets old

You mis-judge. I don't hate any of these guys. There are a couple PROFESSIONAL PRO riders that I really like. Entz and Phatty to be specific. I don't hate the sled. And I didn't see the vid in the discussion, I did however see the one she posted on her Facebook and yes, that one is loaded to the gills with paid endorsers.

I'll take Boston Racing's opinion, SkiBreeze's opinion over any paid rider's opinion. ANY DAY! I also take into account that you rode the PRO and still stuck with Doo.

And no, not jealous that they got to ride a PRO. Alot of people have. I also go a few chances to ride them. Both the 2011 and the 2012.

You wanna see hate??!! Go browse the Doo Section and read thru the PRO posts in that forum. There is so much Doo Hate (anti XM or XP) in there I have stopped visiting that section unitl it mellows out. It sucks to open the XP folder and the first thing you see is how bad the XP or XM is and how great the PRO is.

I'll be honest, I do tease my friends about their sleds and I get it in return. It's fun to razz each other but when it comes down to it we are just riding and having fun.

It's quite obvious that the big three have sleds in the 800cc class that are pretty much close to even. Where one sled is weak, the other is strong.

And just to reiterate this, I DON'T HATE THESE PRO RIDERS IN THE VID (the one in this thread). There are a couple Professional riders that I cannot stand but it is most certainly not because of their sled. And I'm not jealous of the fact that they got to ride the 2013. I'm scheduled to ride the 2013 Summit XM, it just sucks that it's gonna be in April and not in ideal snow.

LMAO...Wait, so PJ, you didn't even watch the video that you're talking sh!t about??!! I guess my original statement is even more relevant...you should do at least a LITTLE research so you don't make yourself look foolish.

I apologize. I saw this thread here at work where Youtube is monitored and I just assumed it was the same video that Brandy posted on Facebook. My bad.

But I Still don't think that one person can say one way or another that one sled is better than the other. Each have weaknesses and strengths. Polaris has the light chassis but a weaker motor that has some reliability issues. Doo has a heavier chassis but a strong motor.

Back when the XP first came on scene, the critics (mostly Polaris and Cat riders) flamed it for being too light and a pincone would break it. The same critics thought it to be too tippy. Now the PRO comes in at 417 pounds (I bet the production sled is heavier) and the word tippy has been changed to FLICKABLE (ARGH!) and it's all good, nothing wrong with it. So, what's with the double standard? Now don't get me wrong, I am not accusing you or any of the riders in the video this thread is about of being one-sided and such.

I really wish people would just quit with the insults, the open brand bashing (teasing buddies is fine) and generally saying that if you don't ride a CAT, POO or a DOO you suck. Just ride what you like and like what you ride, don't force your personal sled choice on people (Again, not saying you are doing this, but it is done each and every year)

I apologize for the assumption. I'll try not to let it happen again.
