Well winter is upon us and I am thinking of upgrading from 06 summit x 151. I am not made of money and would like to buy something for around 7000. I would really like the 09X but it looks prety rare and pricy. Can you guys let me know the differences between the 08 and 09 machines? Is 09 way better? Did artic cat or polaris make a better sled for that price range? My buddies 08 Dragon was always crapping out.

Thanks for the help!

Not alot different from '08-'09....mostly covered by updates. The '08 primary clutch benefits from the '09 spring cap....about $65.
the '08's are going for 6500-7500 around here and that's from the dealers.
IMo the best sled out there right now.

Thanks for the input. I might keep my eyes out for an 08X with low miles. Can you tell me about any of the other updates? I know there was the drive shaft ordeal, I thought I heard about a saggy rear shock, ?.

Thanks

Personally I think the 09 was a much better sled. Most that had both say the 09' ran better. You can get new in the crate 09' in salt lake city for about $7800. The cat and pol. chassis are very nice, although they each ride alittle different. If you are happy with your rev, you will LOVE the XP. As far as stock power goes just look at the last 2 years snowest deep pow. challenge, doo, cat and pol last both years.

I can tell you when I picked up a used XP from a dealer, they had just replaced the driveshaft, grip warmers, oil reservoir and both rear shocks....I believe a ECM update as well. I would also do the '09 primary clutch spring cap right away on a '08.

Out of the box the 2009 is a better.....Just updating the plastic part that's used to open the ORS was a bonus.

Plus i think i blue/white goes faster than black. :eek::face-icon-small-hap

Oh, and the '09 intake "foam wart" is ugly but it does work better without plugging as easily as the '08. About $20 to update that to '09.:beer;
