If I decide to sell my 850 in the near future, does the 4 year warranty transfer to the buyer? If I trade it at a dealer will they be able to sell it with the remainder of the 4 year warrant?

Yes. Think the buyer pays a $50 transfer fee.

Warranty can only be transferred once.

That may be a USA thing because none of the guys I know in Canada ever had to pay the transfer when buying a used sled.

I think that the Poo guys have to pay, I transfer two Doodoo sleds a year to new owners, takes 2 minutes at the dealer to get it done. It may depend on if the dealer wants to make a buck though???????

Yes.

Warranty can only be transferred once.

Do they enforce this? I havent heard this before.

When I bought my 17 it was a snowheck sled that the owner didnt take. I picked it up new, and they did have to transfer the warranty to my name. I didnt care about the details because the guy also used a Golden ticket on it so it had another 1,000 off the price.

Anyway... I only kept that sled 4 months and sold it. So if this is true, that would mean the guy I sold it to didnt have any warranty on it????

The warranty stays with the machine. Paying to transfer is a new one to me...never seen that

Correct.... the warranty is based on VIN number, date of sale, and program when sold....... and this has typically been how warranty is handled....

BUT pretty sure if you read the fine print regarding registered owner and warranty transfer there are limits to owner transfers...

Yet another reason to have a good relationship with your dealer.
