Scott vs. Motorfist vs. Klim

Neither Klim or Motorfist has anything in long length jackets. I tried a xxl klim jacket on and the sleeves were too short, what do the big guys wear? I'm only 6'4" and feel kinda small around some of the guys out there.
Digger Down----go try on the new MotorFist Rekon jacket in a Large or X-L. It will fit you........promise. Sleeve length longer on the MotorFist products this year. Give it try.

Looking for a new pair of pants.
I go out 1-3 times a year and if we have enough snow i ride around Nebraska.
I don't want to go with a cheap pair of pant that will leak on the second day.
I would like to here from some people that have one 2-3 of the brands listed.
The styles im looking at are Klim Freeride pant, Motorfist Rekon pant, and Scott Enumclaw pant

I love my Klim Freeride Pants worth the money for sure!!!!!!!!!

I tried on all three of those last year and ended up going with HMK. I like the zipper position, boot gators, and the waist position fit me better. No regrets so far.

HMK FXR

.... Need i say more. I ride 50+ times a year. There are times i ride every day a week for a few hours.

I love my freeride pants from klim also. I have always gotten gore-tex gear because it has never let me down. I am sure hmk and moto-fist make great stuff but since klim has always kept my dry and warm im reluctant to try anything else.

I like moutain hardware pants and coat. just as nice as klim imo. i would say the long underware is just as importent as the coat or bibs. polypropelyne is the only way to go. i laugh when i see people wearing anything cotton. i get wetter under my coat from sweat then from moisture getting through, this is where the good long underware wisk's the sweat away from your body keeping you dry at the end of the day.:washing:

Mountain Hardwear fits me great. 6'6". Check out the size charts and compare between Hardwear and Klim. I think the sleeves are 2-3 inch longer on Hardwear if I remember correctly.

Just a heads up for those of you using products made by Mountain Hardware, Kelty, CamelBack, Thule, Black Diamond, REI and a ton of other company's. The presidents and CEO of these company's are members of the Conservation Alliance. Toper Gaylord, President of Mountain Hardwear is on the board for the Conservation Alliance. The conservation Alliance gave nearly $1,000,000 last year to grassroots environmental groups that are working to shut down motorsports and promoting wilderness. Company's like Klim give a ton of money to try to keep riding areas open. I know this doesn't follow the best gear discussion but I would rather be cold and riding than warm and walking. If you are snowmobiling in the west, buy gear from snowmobiling company's that operate in the west, they are usually working to help keep riding areas open of everyone. You can check out the Conservation Alliance at this website. http://www.conservationalliance.com/about/board_and_staff

I have the Klim free ride pants and love them. However after three years my but started getting wet.I called Klim and they said to send them in.After two weeks brand new pair at the door. No questions just great service. Also have there coat and still warm and dry.

why would you support someone who hates what you do or stand for? Even if their stuff works, if they don't like me I won't support them. You know klim and motorfist and hmk support sledders so why not support them. The heck with patagonia and columbia. I guess if you don't mind you won't mind when we can't snowmobile.

well i can forward my savings from them towards lobbist supporting sledding...but anyway back to your point...i really did not know these guys were so anti sledding...and i thought their stuff interesting...so thanx for bringing me up to date on these guys..

Another vote for KLIM!

I have a significant amount invested in Klim's gear (around $1,500) and couldn't be happier. Just sent some stuff to be repaired and it turns out I had a small leak in the pants and they were warrantied, brand new pair showed up this week.

There has been some great debate over their warranty as of late, but I experienced nothing but world class service!

Yes their stuff is a bit pricey but as far as I'm concerned worth every penny. Great product and great company, helpful and friendly with every issue I've had.

Save yourself the headache and gimmicks and get the real stuff the first time!

THANKS KLIM

has anyone besides me had good luck with their castle gear?

I couldnt be happier with mine...i guess another full season will tell how they hold up...

i have last years switch-10 pants and coat btw

Mine didn't work out to bad but they are like the 05 models. Pants aren't waterproof only water reistant and that is why I am looking for a new pair. I will keep my castle coat though as it is still holding up.

I am wearing Scott gear, I like the fit and feel like the gear is of good quality. I stay warm and dry!!!

Let me tell you - as a girl - I wish I could spend my money on some of the really cute stuff out there for winter athletes being offered by manufacturers who are spending $$$$$$ to take away our access rights. But - I don't!

We have some great products available to us by manufacturers who do support motorized recreation - Klim, HMK and Motorfirst. Just think of it this way - the money you are spending buys you reliable gear (think survival), supports our access rights, and keeps the money flowing through the industry to further our sport (R&D, etc). You can rest assured that none of these three vendors will spend a dime in a effort to eliminate motorized access rights on public land.

:focus:

I wear Klim freeride pants, gloves and boots and wear an HMK jacket. :D I haven't been wet since 2000, when I bought my first Klim bibs (which I still own and are in fantastic condition!).
