Scott vs. Motorfist vs. Klim

Looking for a new pair of pants.
I go out 1-3 times a year and if we have enough snow i ride around Nebraska.
I don't want to go with a cheap pair of pant that will leak on the second day.
I would like to here from some people that have one 2-3 of the brands listed.
The styles im looking at are Klim Freeride pant, Motorfist Rekon pant, and Scott Enumclaw pant

I had moose pants and they lasted for about 4 seasons with about 30 trips all together on them and held up very nicely for that amount of time and plus we ride quite abit around here. I just bought motor fist jacket and gloves, truly believe them to be top quality gear, but time will tell. For the price I think Klim is way over done for us part timers / flatlanders that don't go 20 times a year I don't see spending that kind of money. But motorfist right now is having a half off deal on 2010 products and you just can't beat that deal!!

I tried on all three of those last year and ended up going with HMK. I like the zipper position, boot gators, and the waist position fit me better. No regrets so far.

Just go to Motofist.com and look at lastyears stock. $160 for bibs and $150 for jacket!! Ordered mine a week ago!! cant pass up a deal like that!!

Klim gear is well proven and I have found nothing beats Gortex for waterproofness. I have the pants, jacket, socks, boots and gloves. They all work great. However, another choice for jackets are Mammut or Mountain Hardware but they will still cost you. I paid $450 for a Mountain Hardware jacket 13 years ago and it is still going strong. As for the pants you can't beat Klim. Plus Klim has always taken care of me on the customer service side of the house. Just remember, your life may depend on your gear keeping you dry and warm when riding the back county and you happen to get stranded for whatever reason. There is nothing worse than being cold and wet from moisture leaking thru your gear because they are not waterproof. I ride 90% off trail back country where it is only you and your sled and your riding buddies. No cell phone reception, just your gear and what you have on your sled.

I like moutain hardware pants and coat. just as nice as klim imo. i would say the long underware is just as importent as the coat or bibs. polypropelyne is the only way to go. i laugh when i see people wearing anything cotton. i get wetter under my coat from sweat then from moisture getting through, this is where the good long underware wisk's the sweat away from your body keeping you dry at the end of the day.:washing:

We have motorfist and klim both are very good.. We seem to think that the motorfist is just a little bit better than the klim but I am sure that you will be happy with ether one..

I had Klim pant that worked ok but I got motorfist bibs last year and they are awsome I am so glad that I made the jump I am very happy with them...

Does noone like castle x gear? I rode with their pants and jacket all last season in the back country and i was happy...kept me warm and dry on the deepest of days... a lot of people around here ride with castle x gear and really like it...

castle x sucks for me and buddy

didn't even make it full season went back to 4 year old scott gear thank god i never sold them or gave them away they still dont leak. I wont even let my buddies that ride my machines wear the castle gear

Castle sucks

After 6 rides my Castle gear was junk and the worst part is they wouldn't stand behind their product. NEVER AGAIN!!!! I would seriously consider HMK. Best in my opinion and I'd say NO ONE will come close to their customer service.

I had a pair of Wal-Mart bibs with duct tape all over them that kept me drier than Caste-X crap.

Don't waste your money

I have FXR team pants from yamaha right now and hate them. They leak and on my second year with them(only 2 trips to the mountains) they started ripping. I decided since I'm not buying a sled this year to get new pants. I'm not a fan of bibs since I where a chest protector. Castle X and Arctiva are not in question only because I don't like their quality. Only reason I have Scott for a choice is because I have a 50% off gift certificate. Since Scott isn't getting much feedback I will concider HMK. I will also be in the market for a new helmet either next year or later this year. Can't decide between Shoei VFX-W or Klim F4.

I have a set of Klim Tog's in the swap for $200 shipped. They are new, I work them once and found them too long for me. They are Medium Talls.
