Sarah Palins' RNC Speech

I understand that Barack Obama is very different than John McCain. Yes I choose the candidate with less votes and time in congress. I like John McCain. I do NOT like business as usual. Unfortunately this is exactly what we can expect from McCain and the Republican party.

McCain isn't business as usual. 90% of the time he's voted with Bush but what they don't mention is 90% of the time the vote is unamious on simple issues like "Lets congradulate the Giants on their SuperBowl victory. On those few issues like the war on Iraq hes criticized Bush on the way things were handled, even to the point of political suicide.

Barack Obama is his own person, give him that at least! Hence my concerns, Sarah Palin is a prepackaged product that is being sold to us as the real deal. She is not! Palin has business as the second in command of the United
States of America.

ROFL, Palin is the real deal...Obama is the puppet. I don't think a puppet (like Obama) can be created in the short time of Palin's concideration.

My thoughts ultimately are that I am smarter than what John McCain is giving me credit for. Why would he choose a woman as a running mate. There is no other reason than a cheap parlor trick to try and get our votes. No regard for the best interests or for the future of our great nation. Why not surround himself with the smartest and strongest team possible? Nothing against Sarah Palin or any woman in politics.

Because it WORKED!!! Listen, he had to do SOMETHING to his campeign as it was uninspiring and boring. Why not pick a bulldog reformer of a woman who is obviously very smart? She connected with way more than Hillary supporters, she connected with consertive familys all across rural America. She pizzed off the Dykes though LOL did you see the suits removing the protesting dykes? I am VERY much AGAINST same sex marriage, which is a whole other arguement.

And yopu think that obama is not a pre-paCKAGED PRODUCT AND THE REAL DEAL? yOU ARE AN IDIOT. dO YOU REALLY THINK THAT THIS FOOL WITH NO REAL EXPERIENNCE HAS RISEN TO THE TOP ON HIS OWN AND IS NOT BEHOLDING TO ANYTHING? yOU ARE A COMPLETE FOOL IF YOU BELIEVE THIS.

exactly, he is very very careful not to mention race....yet his campeign stinks of it. Its like a cloud surrounding him. The whole MLK connection makes me sick. Obamas relitives OWNED SLAVES and the Dems fought to keep slaves. MLK was Republican as were most all blacks and it was the Republicians who ended slavery. Obama is 6% Black, and none of his black relitives were ever in America.

She is more qualified than obama the community planner. She should have ran for president then we would have the first women in and it would actually be good for the country.

I'm not quite THAT much in love with Palin, she's a great start but she isn't there yet. She needs McCains tutouldge on foriegn policy.
On the other hand Obama is the EXACT wrong way to go on foriegn policy. HAMAS wants nothing more that to be ligimated, a sit down with the President of the United States will ligimate them....what a massive recruiting tool and propaganda platform... HAMAS- "we have brought the US to its knees!, join us in our Jihad the President of the US has come to beg us to stop yadda yaaddaa..." Do you want that???

130 "present" votes??? WTF?? Obama has been in office for 18 months, the rest of the time he's been absent for campaigning. In those 18 months he voted "present" 130 times.

Besides being a US Senator and a candidate chosen by millions of people. Barack Obama is a Harvard Graduate.

The teleprompter was back up by the time the cheering subsided, however she didn't freak out when it was down. She also didn't have her own copy of the notes....She kept her composure though. I would have shat myself.

Hot Air Ballooning is great fun, especially when its not yours!! The balloon belongs to a friend and we sponsor it in a local balloon rally every year.

I said it before, I am voting for Obama, that does not mean that I like everything about him. I am voting for a change in direction, I don't believe that Senator McCain will bring about much change. Bush-ism is elitism. His presidency has created more polarization of classes than the previous 3 presidents combined!! That is my opinion, not a googled fact.

Its funny to be called a sexist, I wanted Hilary Clinton to get the nomination. Sarah Palin is a pawn in a HIGH stakes poker game. She should resent being used like this. I hope she is as strong an individual as it seems. At this point, we American are being fed BS from all directions. I am choking most on the crap from the GOP.

Personaly, I wasn't to big on either of the cans. Did this move by the McCain pull my vote? Yes. Woman or not his selection for VP is what IMO we need in the white house. We sit back and complain about our poloticians and how out of touch they seem to be with what this country was founded on. McCain selected a person who hunts, does motorsports and has a no bs attitude about things. The more I see things about Palin the more I am impressed with the woman. I think there are a lot of Moms and DADS in the working blue collar class that are going to Identify with her and thus put their vote to McCain. Where as before they may have been up in the air. She read off a speach that someone wrote for her, full of errors too. Don't believe me, yahoo.com news did a feature on it this morning.

She claims she took the largest state and made record profits to its people. By land size, yes large, but by people it ranks 47 in population. With all the oil and gas growth up there, I would hope she would have surplus up there.

She was a mayor for a town of under 2000. Everyone complains Obama served only 18 months as a senator, Palin hasn't even served a full term either. Scratch that strength for her.

She claims she was in charge of National Guard, smallest NG sector in the US, and was never once under her authority. They have all been in Iraq, completely out of her control, they fall under Govt. then.

Finally, she has never been out of this country until this year. As a leader for the US, you are going to have to deal with global politics, not exactly a setting for someone's first trip out of the county. Ya, Vice-pres. Still important to be a global force, it's part of the job.

McCain's decision after a 15 minute phone call? You are going to base the second most powerful person in our Govt. off a 15 minute call? Please.

This is what I have seen so far. Sure, she could be the one I vote for eventually, but she better have a lot more to back herself up than what I have heard already.

On another note, it is cool her husband races Sleds, good for our sport hopefully.

All in all it doesnt make any difference what anyone says on here. I know who i'm voting for and so do you I highly doubt that anything thats said on here will change that. But that is why our country is so great we have the freedom to say anything we want about furute or even current presidents and it doesnt matter where as in other countries we wouldnt have lasted this long. The long and short of it is we will decide based uopn what we feel is important and true. So you vote for whoever I'll vote for whoever as will teh rest of the country and we will see who the counrty thinks will do the best JOB (thats really all it is) soon.

Hey guys, I can see where you would think that Palin is just a Barbie doll put up on stage as a political ploy. As one who lives in Alaska, and has seen her around for a while, She is the real deal!!! While that speech may have been written for her, her own version would not have been that different than the speech she did deliver. Give her a chance guys, listen to her and read up in her. She is the real deal and I for one would not be afraid to see her as President. She may have come out of left field for you guys in the states, but for us, we couldn't be more proud of her and can't think of anyone more deserving of the nomination.

BTW, you should be proud of her, I never said you shouldn't be. I would be proud sorta if my governor made it, but he's not qualified either even though he was in the talks for a while. I have nothing against her or her accomplishments thus far, but what she has done is a LONG ways from VP status. Sorry thats how I see it.

NOT only served for just 18 months but only showed up to 173 sessions and ONLY made roll call 151 times how does that put a check mark on his side again?
