A friend an myself were thinking of ridin gallager or somthing on new years day .Can somone give a snow report an tell me how the ridin is please

If you do ride Gallagher tomorrow be careful.

NWAC is predicting the Avalanche danger to be level 4 or High.

Hopefully we get a ton of snow and it cools down on Saturday.

Was up there Wednesday. 4-6" on top of ice. Hills are very fast. Saw many small thin slides. I would wait until that layer adheres and more builds up.

 

[Lake Cle Elum]

Snowed hard today (12-31-09) Small flakes and only about 4-6 inches near LAKE CLE ELUM. Gotta remember: Pure ice under that new powder.....Can be fun times heading down an icy chute that looks like new snow.........

I would avoid the hills for a little while, getting alot of fresh ontop of ice. Might try Cooper or French Cabin (on the same road), lots of good riding and less hazardous area, especially if you don't know the area very well
