RT1000 2010 summer mods COMPLETE!!

Well, I had planned a few more things over the summer but clutch "trouble" slowed down progress. That being said I think the sled looks pretty good and the new mods should work out well.

New rear tunnel section ( built by me )
New 18" Fox Floats -5 lbs
Changed stearing post out to T style, XP riser, and RSI 2" rise bars
Relocated all the switches to the dash
Took 6 lbs out of the skid ( adjuster, one strap and the last set of bogies and some holes )
Boss seat -5 to 7 as I never put the new seat on the scale
New primary, 12.3 empty pins and 1mm oversized roller 2.5 grams over stock
Removed 19T jumped up to 21T ( stock was 23 )
Floating secondary.

Sled is down 15 more lbs and I'm down 20 so far... should be a good year.

Rear skid is the next step, my skid is 48 lbs the way it is ( with worn out hyfax and cable scratchers ) If I can ditch the stock torsion springs and steel bodied shocks for a single float I would be about 38 lbs and that would be a pretty big improvment over what must have been close to 57-58
lbs stock but the budget is taped for now, need to focus on some new riding gear.

Rt 162

Looking at those pictures makes me wish I had the arm ripping torque still around. Man was that a fun sled to ride! By the way nice 1000 looks good.

i really like what you did with the tunnel and boards... did you make that tunnel piece yourself?? what kind of vents are those?

Yep I built the tunnel. It was the first time I've built one and I think it turned out good. I also bent up a new extension, the stock 1000 had an extra cooler in the back and after removing it there were holes left behind. If you look close you can kinda see that I slit the new sides so they are also attached under the running boards to the stock drop brackets for added strength.

The Vents are from Mountain Fit Hoods. I bought them last season and I have been very pleased, those side vents have come home packed with bark and pitch more than once and there are no signs of coming apart.

Cut out all the outside edges with a skill saw, and used hole saws in the drill press to cut all the holes.

It's powder coated crinkle black to match my boards.

Looking good dude, I wanted to do a bit more with mine this year, but after spending a ton on it last year I think I'll just add a DJ's clutch kit and call it good. BTW got in my 1st ride tonight:D

1000

Just came across this old post, and forgot how good that old 1000 looked. You sure did a nice job on it.

I still love that sled, My riding progressed a ton during the time I owned it. It was the most reliable sled I have ever owned.

Sad to say I sold it over the summer. I was never happy with the 151 ... I really feel the RT needs the bigger track to be happy. I had planned to build an RKT 827 powered REV chassis but ended up picking up an XP.

Found an 08 with 490 miles on it. Started as a 146.

Now it's got a 163 camo extreme
SLP power dome head
CPI pipe
CPI Can
Timbersled intake
Ice age rails
Snow eliminators
Custom tunnel extension
RSI heaters
Sledwraps wrap

Still needs a rooster built clutch kit.
