Road a XM Summit X 800, P.O.S!

when you guys are doing your meadow swirlys next winter and see a 3 inch paddle spankmaster skidoo, just turn around go the other way.LOL

Apparently you need to start over in first grade so you'll know the difference between road and rode......I'll definitely take your advice when it comes to sleds

Copied this from dictionary, just saying. Maybe you should take my advice !
Also "road" is a path that is traveled, something us Polaris riders know nothing about since we ride in the backcountry .. haha who needs to start over? You and ski doo could both use a do over.

I bleed Indy Red... that is pretty evident... But the title of this thread... C'mon.

I understand this was started to get a little attention... but...

To say the XM is a POS... really... It has some of the best fit and finish of all the sleds on the market.

I've spent a day on an XM and it was pretty damn impressive to me. I'm used to the PRO Chassis and "groove" on that better... for ME...

That being said, I've watched in awe as friends like Rob Hoff killing-it on the mountain on the XM and doing things that would blow your mind.

To me... these days... less the sled (at the top offerings in the brands)... and more the rider.

My 2 cents

Oh... and I road/ride'ed/ridden/rode...the pizz outta some deep snow on a broken down 900 RMK today... and still had a blast.

Life is good!!

Sledding is kinda like pizza and sex... when it be good... it's really good...when it's bad... it still be pretty good!!

Hella noice Playa!!

This is kind of off the beaten path but one of the Cat boys bought a new 155 Pro and currently owns a M-8 and a 14 1100 turbo with the 15 upgrades .

I warned him that he needed to do some reinforcing but noooooo he didn't listen . This guy is one of those guys that can wreck an anvil and it's not because he doesn't know how to ride , it's quite the opposite . Not sure why this burndt name always comes up ? Penis envy ?

Long story short in under 400 mile he now has a bowed bulk head and a broken running board from airing it out . One would of thought that the heavy two ton turbo would of snapped in two but it's held up quite well except a little dent in the bulk head from descending jumping bolders and not for seeing one bared one that he grazed .

This style of riding can only be found in the back country unless your jumping barns ? You've got the spaghetti thing backwards , the reason why Poo is called the most flick able is because it's the most flex able and always has been that's why there is so much rider feed back .

The Pro is the easiest handling sled but not all people need a beginners sled . Glad you enjoy it so much .

the big skidoo HP scares poo riders.thats why most say .. give me my poo back.

The Burandt name Always comes up because he is the best in the world, and that's not even argue able. As for the Pro being most flex able sled I think you are upside down in your thoughts, it gives a lot of feedback from being so stiff which is called positive feedback. As for your buddy hucking his sleds 50ft in the air does not make him a great rider. And yes the four stoke cat is holding up better because of all the extra pieces holding it together and reason it weighs 650lbs!

Yes you nailed it in better words. Also agree the rev was 10 times the sled Xp/xm is! Still enjoy getting on an old Rev 800ho that sled with some updates and shaved side panels would give a Pro a run for its money!

The XP was a better Design than the REV for Trail use. Not sure anyone even thought of Mountain use.

I will chime in aswell. I ride with friends that run 174x3 '11 XP, '13 163 xm, '14 155 Prormk, '12 153 M8.

I tried both out one day (for a short time), and i couldn't get those things to side hill for the life of me. I hate to say it but it makes me think my friends are alot better riders than i give them credit if they can manuever those things around like they do. I wouldn't call myself a great rider by any means (average) but i was not impressed. I am sure with more time spent on them i could make it work for me but i sure find the PRO is much easier to ride. Saying that, this was my first season on a PRO chassis as i came off an edge chassis last year and i had a bit of a learning curve to make it work for me too (trying not too over lean VS the old tank of an edge chassis i rode all last year) so i understand it takes some time.

I wasn't overly impressed with the engine either, it pulled fine but i expected more. I also had a chance to ride a '12 cat with pipe and that thing felt stronger than the etec (and my pro) for sure. Handling wise i think the cat was in between the PRO and DOO.

Both the CAT and my PRO run the 2.25PC and it was apparent to a few of us that it is a better track than the stock polaris, no comparison with the 174x3 off course.

Anyone who faught that hard to get used to an XP because they will only ride ski-doo are just amazed how much easier the XM rolls over. If they would have spent some time on a pro they would have been really amazed.

The XM does roll over easy but it's all body and suspension roll it's not the entire sled rolling like the Pro. The xM would roll but you still had to give more rider input to finally get it on edge then once on edge it was walking a tight rope the whole time to keep sled under you, it doesn't stay set.

The XM is just an XP with a fancy skid, weak track, and rounded corners on the side panels. Personally, I HATED it. I've got a day and a couple hours on one, and honestly I couldn't ride it. I looked like I Had only ridden trails my whole life. I like to consider myself a decent rider, I spend around 50 days a year on a sled, I love steep, tight trees, and big air. The XM does great climbing up through the trees, where you have the sled pointed mostly up hill, but when you start to get technical with a lot of changing up and down, above trees, below trees, then the pro will stand out every time. It likes to wash out. That motor is sweet though. I feel its a strong running sled, lots of top end power, but I feel the pros motor is snappier. that could be because of the belt drive, and the weight, but just think what the Pro could be with a decent powered motor. There's a reason guys like Rasmussen have to Cut it apart to get it how he wants, way lower bars, vertical steering post, etc. when all Burandt does is throw a turbo on there.

Haha Tgitt you nailed it, burandts stock sleds has a set of RSI bars and that's it! Totally agree with everything in your post. It's all about technical riding not your every day joe. Any of the pro riders like Jenkins, Hoff, and Rasmussen would be a treat to see them on a Pro Rmk I bet they would rock the hell out of it in the trees!

Haha i agree! The one friend with the 174x3 xp sure likes to beak (sp?) us polaris guys to boot. Easy to do when you have the biggest track amongst the group and are the most experienced rider.

He just bought a '13 Xm and is amazed at the tippiness of the skid sitting in his garage, he hasn't tried it on the snow yet.

He has taken our polaris's for a few rides but not very long. He has his mind made up, doesn't like them period. Seems there are alot of doo guys like that.

snowmophobia: Someone who is highly scared of Doo's, but in the end is envious just has not had the nerves to jump right out of that closet.:tsk:

This came straight from Websters dictionary, or was it wikipedia. Dont be hate'n guys, nobody on Cat Doo or Yami threads have anything like this thread here. In fact there are two types of threads in this section, Doo hate'n and Poo fixn....good day. :lips:

Well I rode an xm last year and loved it, I bought a Pro this year and after getting used the Pro I really can't tell that much difference between the two. I can do the same things on each sled, neither is hard to ride, both are about equal in the snow ability catagory. I am far from brand loyal and ride what I want. I've having a tough time choosing between the two right now for next year.
