RKT drop in pistons incorrectly marked ??

What Kelsey is not on here helping you guys out with his product?? Now that's a shocker. Well look around on the other forums I'm sure he is out there bashing on someone else.

I just got off the phone with Kelsey, he checked the fact that you can see the ring ends within the exhaust port if they are installed backwards. So I'm good to go, Kelsey has been very helpful the few times I've talked with him, happy customer so far.

:crazy:I definitely do many things "different" and "backwards" with my engine designs (hence the patent associated with the chambers) but making a piston with ring pins facing the exhaust port is not one of them..

So, it appears that there was a machining error at the factory on at least 1 piston (since this is the ONLY case I have heard of)

Sorry it happened, good job catching it... That would have been a quick disaster for sure....

As for the thought that I have ever bashed anybody on this forum..

Well. you can search around and see that there will be no instances of any bashing on my behalf.. But.. you can always hope.. right??

Haters will always hate.. (funny how it is ALWAYS the same people.. hmmmm) but the forum is open and the data (or lack here-of) is there for everybody to see...

Drop in kit oil

I noticed in Mountainhorse's reply with installation instructions that
9. Install Head. Torque @ 22ft/lbs
a. PREMIX a 150:1 oil ratio in 1st tank of fuel. RKT recommends to always pre-mix at 150:1 in addition to your oil injection system. NEVER run ANY synthetic oil in this engine.
10. Start engine, check for base gasket leakage. Check for air pockets in the coolant system.
Why is synthetic oil not to be used? I can understand that regular oil is recommended to be used during break in but why not synthetic afterwards?

It will "glaze" the cylinder and eventually cause blow by or loss of power.
Kelsey's take on it http://www.2strokeheads.com/OIL-TECH.htm
