RK Tek bang for your buck!

You guys commenting on the drop in with or without the cylinder shim?[/Q

they are commenting on the rev1 kit (no shim), the rev2 drop in kits are very new, only a few on the snow that i know of. the one that we have on the snow is running very strong, running the same clutching as our rev1 kits but it is noticabley quicker

I have the rev 2 kit!!!! its sick

So you have a replica kit of mtntech and bikeman? So now you can go to bikemans Web site and see a Dyno sheet and really see the hp gains and where in the rpm the gains are since rk don't post Dyno reports.
Btw bikeman also uses wasner pistons.

Seems I could, huh...but I don't really give a rats butt what that dyno says. I like first person results, and I got them and I am very pleased with what I got. RKT will get my business again!! Bikeman guys are a good friend of my buddies and there old shop was 5 miles from moms house. My buddy got a y pipe (7hp) dyno said well needless to say we had to take it off his sled in cooke, and use stocker again, since it would not hold heat and sled would run like crap till hot, could not take a 5er to catch his breath even. I personally have never used BMP, so no bad personal experience here. But all in all it don't matter whos kit I bought, I am happy, and it works for me. RKT don't need a dyno sheet, what actually works on the hill is better to me than that stupid sheet of paper, or screen shot. RANT OVER

Just because they use the same manufacturer as each other, does not mean they are the same end product. Port timing is a critical consideration, and everybody does it a little different. Some tune for the best dyno number, some have gone back to tuning on the hill.

What I really want to know is who, in the mountains, has the fix with 2000 miles on it. Pistons and rings in good shape, with good compression. I must admit the reports on RK's stuff are very impressive. I haven't heard too much on the others even though they have been around longer.

Exactly & to take it one step further it would be interesting to see what kit has pistons that have still held their shape(not collapsed).

IMHO, the kit that contains pistons that have minimal collapse at 1500 - 2000 miles can be referred to as an actual "Fix Kit" as opposed to a "Patch Kit"

What happened to Kelsey??? He used to be on here posting regularly and now nothing. Looks like his stuff is working well, lots of great reports from people.

Kelsey was over posting on this same thread on bcr today. You guys must be too tough on him and is looking for an easier crows

Looks like he's now doing what what other fix it kits have been doing for some time other than his shim is different than everybody else's shim.

You to hey? I lost my top end as well last March and put the fix in over the summer(done at dealer) and sure as ****, I are it a whopping 10 miles before she blew up again. Now my guess with yours and mine is the bottom end wasn't properly inspected and some fragments or shavings still in the bottom end caused this mess.
I am a loyal Polaris rider and on my 4th poo sled which have all had top end problems???
Also the fact that we are all talking about this regularly is a problem.
This is a joke....I've yet to break a 1000 miles without replacing a top end while all my Doo & Cat buddies have 25-3000 on theirs. Enough is enough already, I'm sick of this. Why can't Poo just make a decent motor that lasts?

The new rev 2 drop in does use a shim but is nothing like the (fix kits) the shim is much thicker and the piston is 100 percent different not a m-8 piston but totally different than any piston I have ever seen and port timing is also changed nothing even remotely close to the fix kits out there

not quite sure how i got quoted in your post.... but these kits are not the same as stated above

Thinking about doing this kit. I have a 2013 pro looking for some more low end grunt and ponies. How much are you in this big bore kit 858 with everything that you need. Can u run a stock pipe? I currently have a hps can on mine with carls clutching. I know the carls 900 is very spendy at 5600 with everything. Also was wondering how many more hp the rk will gain you and how available they are to get.

Anyone know what RPM's I should be shooting for with the drop-in kit for peak HP?
