Rivet guns

What is available for electric or air rivet guns? I have to install 50+ steel rivets for a project and my hand held gunis killing me!

At my job every winter we replace conveyor belts on 3 of our machines, the belts are riveted onto the chains with 1/4" steel rivets to the tune of 5000/machine. We've been using 2 of the air rivet guns from Northern Tool going into their 3rd year and all we've had to do is replace the jaws once now. So that's roughly 30,000 1/4" steel rivets with 2 guns and 2 sets of jaw each. Normally I'm not one to buy or recomend a "cheap" air tool but this ones a winner.

I bought a power fist from princess auto for about 40$, seems to work fine.

Will be buying one of these ASAP :)

the air riviters with the big can on the bottom work pretty good, but the hydraulic over air riviters will pull the rivits tighter..they cost about 300 or so but they do get the rivits tight...most of our tool trucks (snap-on, mac, carry them up here)
here is a online link to them..nice thing is they are very compact to the other riviters....

Someone has recommended to me the larger air rivet gun from Harbor Freight as being a good tool.

I've had the larger one from Harbor Freight for close to 10 years now and it's still rocking right along. It gets used quite often in our shop, so it's had lots of use.

I agree. This rivet gun works great.

I have had 2 central pneumatic rivet guns from harbor freight that work awesome. I also shy away from cheap tools most of the time, but these have served me well.

Mac also has a good air rivet puller. If you don't need it today go with the Northern tools one, I am sure it'll be cheaper & work just as good.

I must agree on the central pneumatic rivet guns from harbor freight. I am usually not one for cheaper tools but the gun I got from Harbor Freight has worked flawlessly and didn't run me a rediculous price.

X5 or 6 .. lost count.

I also have the harbor freight air riveter and no problems with it. Great rivet gun for the price.

Harbor Freight is what I have...I dont know if it will handle commercial production, but is MORE than sufficient for what I do...it has probably done 2000 rivets trouble free for me...

Same here..Harbor Freight Central made in China junker with big base...over 100 of my own Better Board installs and still cranking along! 5000 steel pulls for $89 retail (but I think it was on sale for $59 a couple years ago)...not bad...not bad at all.

Hey tip of the day...put a bit of duct tape on the business end so when you pull and pop it doesn't mar or damage your work.
