For the record I'm LDS, so the mormon hater card can't be played.

BYU has one win vs. teams with a .500+ record, no amount of Ute bashing can cover that up. The cougars have met several good teams this year and lost to all of them, they have also met several bad teams and lost to some of those as well.

Wait till Saturday, the Cougars still won't have a winning record and I have a feeling they will smell like thrown beer (which does smell different than regular beer).

Seriously please try to defend the cougars and their lone win over a .500 team, I don't blame you if you can thought as they don't have a SINGLE quality win yet.

Look forward to playing the wac next year and getting it handed to you every other game.
 
Oh and who are the Utes quality wins this year? Pitt? Thats like beating up a handicap kid and claiming you're the toughest guy on the block. The only team you could maybe say is Air force but even then they gift wrapped that one for the Utes. ANything else beyond that?

Fact is no BYU fan has claimed they are world beaters this year. And all Utah has done is beat up crappy teams but Utah fans are still thumping their chests. They are as overrated as the monster blizzard we had last night.

Notre Dame at home. I don't care how good their record is this year, they play a difficult schedule and they still have the ability to recruit the athletes that BYU only dreams about (Manti te'o ring a bell)
Air Force @ AF, the Utes walked away with a win which is more than the Y can say.
And a win on the road at San Diego, the same San Diego that almost took it to the number three team in the nation.

I would consider all of those quality wins/games, and the rest of the college voting community does as well (as evidenced by a top twenty ranking with two losses.)

I never asserted that BYU was a world beater, nor did I assert that BYU fans think they are (even though we both know there are quite a few out thee that think that a four game win streak against the garbage they beat is far more impressive than it should be).

My only assertion is that BYU's schedule will be a very accurate barometer for the outcome of this game, Utah is a team with a winning record and BYU isn't winning those games this year.
 
BYU beat San Diego too so I guess if that a quality win for Utah it is for BYU too. I love when you say BYU fans think their winning streak against crappy teams is better than it is. You could just replace BYU for Utah in the sentence and it would be just as true.

Fact is both teams have beat up on the cupcakes on their schedule and have lost to anyone of worth. Id say Utah is a better team this year and give them a 3-7 point edge in this game since it is at RES. But I like our chances in this one and think we could win.
 
Independence = no more crappy Mtn. Network!!

Same goes with PAC 10.

I'm thankful I never have to watch another game hosted by that crappy network.
 
Yo Aaron! That game was ridiculously close! Look at the stat sheet, and you will have a hard time finding a closer game in every category. Frankly, byu likely outplayed the Utes. But, if your kitties had been able to hold onto the ball, and not left it up to anyone else to make a decision on the field, and I must say via instant replay, you would be very happy, instead of whining! It seems too often when byu wins this battle the happy valley lovers are all giggles. When Utah wins...we are all classless, cheaters, and someone else lost the game for you....NOT your players! Makes me LOL! Unfortunately, neither team is very good this year...IMHO. As for Heaps....I think most Utah fans would trade you straight across for Wynn any day!
 
i do admit that other mistakes were made that cost them. but i haven't heard many yewt fans say that the call on the field was right.

that idiot that let the punt hit him. going for it on 4th and 1. play calling on the final drive, once they got into field goal range(imo, jake heaps was shredding the defense that drive and could have gotten them closer. the field goal was by no means a "gimme")

and finally, there was a major missed blocking assignment on the blocked field goal.

As a BYU fan and graduate....I agree. But you can easily replace BYU and Utah in that entire quote. Thats the beauty of this long time rivalry, you win some, you lose some. It was a good second half and thats all I ask for....but it would have been better if somebody had picked up the missed block on that field goal attempt:laugh:
 
I didn't see the replay of the fumble, as I was in the stadium freezing my butt off! But, there must not have been conclusive evidence to overturn the call on the field, or something??? Like said, there were calls that went both ways. That's part of what makes it fun, and aggravating at the same time. I love college football!!!

Here was my exact statement "This game isn't going to be close, and the Cougars will end their time in the MW with a loss"

I was wrong about it being close, but you still went home a losers. And you proved yourself to be one of those excuse filled, ignorant, whiny true blue cougars.

yes you were wrong. truth is, neither byu nor utah are very good this year. unfortunately, byu outplayed utah the entire game but made just enough mistakes to lose.

at least i am true blue. hell of a lot more than one could say about the majority of your "fan base"
