Riding the 975 Turbo

All the vids are with both exhaust valves not working. I have to install nord-locks on the y-pipe and get the valves working then I will post some vids with it actually putting out all it's power.

got everything torn off the front of the engine fixing all the minor issues right now. Have to put a couple helicoils in the bolt holes that hold the exhaust valves on. Hope to have her up and running by the weekend. Third times a charm, I hope.:face-icon-small-dis

Watching you ride it I am wishing I still owned it! It is a one of a kind. I hope you get the bugs worked out and enjoy the he!! Out of it!

Got the helicoils at Napa. Going to try to get her all buttoned back up tomorrow. Thing is going to be sick when it puts out full power. Hopefully my work finishing it up can do justice to what you created.

Oh, forgot to mention I talked to the guys at HM turbos and they said they had built a few 975's that weren't turboed and they were crazy...lol

5 helicoils and two exhaust valve bases swiped from my other 900 and she is almost ready to rock. Just gotta put the pipe back on tomorrow and maybe install the skid plate.

All back together and running now, I added a polaris skid plate to it. Hopefully I will get it out again in next few days.

Well she ran beautiful only one problem. The seal between the mag side piston and the center chamber is bad so she blows oil out around the oil pump.

Going to be pulling the 975 out this week and sending it to IndyDan to either be repaired or to get upgraded to a TM1.

Just called Dereck Fischer and he is building a set of 10:1 compression domes for my other 900 TM3. I should have it up and running by next week with as a pump gas turbo 900 TM3. So now it's going to be a PolCat 900 turbo. Polaris 900 with Arctic Cat Primary clutch and Diamond drive secondary.

What Elevation are you riding at? What clutching do you have in yours?
I just did the TM3 with an attitude turbo and pretty close but wanting to see what combos others are running. only had it out 3 times and wow it is incredible how much power they have once you get all the bugs out.

4000-6000 ft
primary Erlandson Maroon 185-320
Cutler Adjustable weights 75-85 @ 85 grams (think I need 90 grams)

Secondary
Diamond drive
36-46 cutler reverse helix
Cutler Orange Spring (heaviest they make)

Just got the word my engine is done and ready to go. I'll be picking it up tomorrow and hopefully getting her back together for the next test ride Saturday or Sunday.

I got the engine in and started it up and it was leaking antifreeze from the head studs. When I tried to seal them one of the studs pulled out so I had to take the engine back apart. I sent the cylinder and clutch off to IndyDan, hopefully I will have them back this week. I did manage to get the new hood installed though.
