Riding in the Big Horns

bighorns pretty good

The bighorns are not that bad in dec. the prob is some people ride like maroons going wfo and crash I bump rocks here and there but have not tore up a sled in 5 years and ride fairly aggressive if there is a bump in the snow don't hit it chances are it is a rock and as stated know the area and a good rule of thumb areas off the trail that don't have tracks or old tracks the locals know to stay out. Now in nov. yea there is not really alot of snow at times or places but I still ride just my .02 and there is no secret riding spot just harder to get to but the lodges up there are top notch and like snowmobilers been a few places thats not the case

Let me ask you 2 a question: You ever been towed out by a boosted sled with a short pull rope? Cause you both might get your chance this year :D

by the sounds of it i even want to be there to ride with nate, wyoming t/a, and mtm7. sounds like a funny group of guys. almost to the halfway point of august!! this heat is killing me.

talked to my dealer tonight and the 09-154x is in --wont get it for a month or so--its a little early even for me:D:)

If you want to trail ride and play in meadows, Island Park is ok. Guy ride is going up Blue Creek and into Jefferson.
Wives can do Cooke and so can 11 year olds on Indy Trail 133s. The Alpine is a good place to stay and Cooke has a new hotel with wifi also. Stay the f*%#k out of Henderson if there is great snow - it avalanched twice last year before the end of january and hurts people bad.
Actually Dubois, I think it's the Line Shack, is decent place to do a wifey ride and you can still pack gas and go to Togs.
Alpine, Wy is also a good family destination with some early season climbing and off trail stuff. It just takes just a little longer than forever to get there
If you look at satellite photos closely, you can find epic riding at Bear really close to the lodge but don't tell anybody.

MY .02 if you decide to ride the horns over christmas and new years Bear Lodge is ok riding is alright but if you take the extra time and dont mind being in a lodge with only a few other people HIGH COUNTRY is the way to go...... They have gas, food and everything you need only down side you have to ride your sled to the lodge which is about half an hour ride from bear lodge or ten minutes from the Lovell side of the mountain riding is usually better on this side of the mountain and there is plenty of stuff for the ladies to ride around in also just my .02

.

That sorta makes me smile we take dates up that all the time. There is a ton more riding to IP than medows and that area, Two top, Lions head area, lot of stuff perfect for taking the wifey to that won't get you into trouble. BTW you should hear a girl scream the first time you drop down into willow creek off of Ray's. Lol funny stuff

Looks like I'm gonna be over in Gillette thru the season this winter, I'm gonna have to hook-up with some of you riders from over on this side of WY.

How good are you at beer pong? I need a new beer pong partner :) mine took a drunken spill down the stairs last night and dislocated his shoulder.

Ive found that beer pong is a great training exercise to snowmobiling while in the off season
