Is there an official start date for riding? I know up here in the Snowies is Dec 1 for off trail and I think Big Horns is this weekend or next. Can't really afford a ticket, so if anyone knows of any dates for Buffalo Pass and/or Rabbit Ears please post it.

your good to ride RE and buff pass. also the snowies off trail date is now Nov 15th...

Hi,
I'm new to snowmobiling in the area. Can someone tell me where snowies, jones, and other areas mentioned in this forum are? I'm having a tough time finding areas to ride.

Thanks
Drew

the snowies are the mountains in southern wy above laramie wy on a map and rabbit ears is the pass that you go over to get in to steamboat colorado.

Snowies would be west of Laramie, medicine bow national forest, about 3 hours from north denver take 25 to ft Collins, 287 up to Laramie, and 230 SW to southern Snowies for lower terrain or 130NW for higher terrain. Jones isn't for beginners

The snow has settled out a bunch in the last week. Found more landmines this weekend in places were we didn't find any the past few weeks. The trail is bumpy as no grooming yet.

Pretty tracked up without any new snow yesterday. There is a solid base from the first few snows, but you'll need more before riding up at Buff again.
