ridin out back door

The only place in CO that I know of, would be Grand Lake area.

Not much like northern WI/MI, where its normal to see a sled riding through town.. Most the enviro nuts would /suicide if they had to see or hear a snowmobile in THEIR town I think.

I ride out my driveway down the street and up in the mtns behind my house and I'm in Minturn. I think we used our trailer less than 10 times last season, we just would explore all the areas behind our house.

Guys ride sleds down the street everyday, we're pretty respectful as far as not before 7-730am then not after about 9pm. The town cops are pretty chill about it as long as riders aren't being dumbasses.

Pretty sweet!

I could probably ride from my front door, but I don't think the HOA or my neighbors would appreciate it too much :D

Never checked your coords before Mule. If your location was decimal degrees you'd have a better shot at it :) For some reason I thought you lived in Laramie:rolleyes:

I'm at 40.707 X -105.412 decimal degrees on google earth. Rare to get much riding around here. Get some good snow now and then, but the base never builds up enough. Couple of sub-divisions up west of Red feather lakes you can ride into the Laramie range from pretty easy. Tons of area to ride, though the base can be thin. From there you could "technically" get up to the snowies or Cameron pass, but it's a haul.

That Rabbit Ears villiage would be kind of cool, though i thought it was summer access by car only? Wouldn't mind having a lot there though, or Hahns Peak :)

There are some folks that live at RE village year round but they have their own plow setups. I believe that only the main road is plowed and I don't know how far up.

^^ Yeah, I read up on them in there online newsletter. Sounds like they have a storage shed to keep your sled in, so you can get to your property. Lots in the 30 to 80 K range. Who's in:D

It will depend on how many storms hit these places. Hot Sulphur, south side of US 40 can get you on top of Cottonwood pass and the back way to Church Park. Hahns Peak/Centennial/Steamboat Lake are vacation hamlets and have barely rideable snow until January to March. South side of US 40 at Fraser has the possibility of riding out but you will suffer the consequences of plowed CRs.

Guenella Pass used to be Geneva Basin Ski Area.

http://rabbitearsvillage.org/400-Real_Estate.asp Here's there HOA site with some listings. Search turned up some other realtors too. Lots in that price range are probably un-improved, no well and no power, and maybe some issue, like steep, no view, on solid rock, remote. Pick up a lot and plop a 12 X 12 structure on it with a wood-burner, generator, buried cistern, septic tank. I know a guy with a deal like that and no permit was required. Would be a great area to be rooted if you could swing employment nearby and figure out a way to plow the road to your place. Get a tractor with a bucket and a rear mounted blower and your all set, lol :D
