Revy avalanche

The Mrs's and I didn't go this year.....................after hearing the new's this morning were both sick. There has been as many as 1000+ spectators sitting under turbo hill at this event in years past. Sounds like it maybe wasn't the case this year Thank God!

Its easy to place blame and act on emotion. I think we all need to take a step back take a deep breath, regroup and be close to friends and family and give the people we know that have been affected by this, the support they will need.

Friends and family are still awaiting word on their loved ones. The last thing we need is blame placed. This is a sport that is and can be risky, just like back country skiing, hiking and general back country use in the winter season.

We all are responsible for ourselves, we all make the conscious decision to be out there and have no one to blame but ourselves. This sport is one where you need to make some life changing decisions and be prepared to accept the consequences, if you can't, then you should not be out there.

Lets NOT make this into a "its all his fault". Lets get the family and friends taken care of !

For crying out loud Out of respect to those affected by this accident why doesn't everyone just stop posting negitivity and rumors about this until the REAL TRUTH of the tragity is announced. When SAR is done everyone will know the #'s.

watch what you say on here. people from the news are following these kinds of threads trying to the inside report

Yep They are having problems with new members joining up and trolling over on snow and mud and PM ing members looking for info.
May be a good Idea for the mods to lockout new members joining for awhile.

today boulder Mt is closed until further notice . the sleds involved in the avalanche that were left up there are being tagged and choppered out . this is being done so search and rescue can continue there search with out having the sleds in their way .

Again thoughts and prayers go out to the fallen, injured and missing

I do not want to offend anyone and i am sorry if i do, but try to stay positive and keep praying it is all we can do for those of us who are not able to lend a hand. I know whats its like to lose loved ones and comrades, we just have to focus on the positives and support the families of the fallen as much as possible. On a positive note at least the fallen were doing what they loved to do and they are riding the fresh pow in a better place called heaven now.

God Bless

I think it would be a good idea for all sledders in the Revelstoke area to check in with the RCMP and S&R. Does anyone know if they've setup a hotline to help with something like this?

I agree: we need damage control here. This is not good for the sledding community, especially the infighting. We need to stick together and come up with a plan or sledding in the backcountry will change as we know it!

Sending prayers to all from Montana. We'll keep everyone in our thoughts. Let us know if we can help in any way, either here or by pm's.
