rev or xp

I had an '07 X last year and have an '08 XP this year. I've had no trouble with either sled. The '08 seems to have more punch on the top end and performs better all around. I think this is due to the reduced weight of the '08. Without a doubt go with the XP.

Huh?

I have an 07 151" X and have been riding with all my buddies and their XPs and been Kicking their butts all year long. I decided to pass on the XP to see what kind of bugs it had. My friends are pretty ticked off that the '07 is wiping their butts every single ride. My sled runs very strong. I have a clutch kit and a SLP head kit with a can that gives me 20 extra HP. One of the XPs has a head kit, twin pipes, and an air box kit, and my sled is still kicking butt on it. I do have it for sell if you are interested.

I can't decide weather to buy an XP or a Dragon next year. I have ridden both and absolutely loved the Dragon. And to be honest, I like the feel of the Rev much better than the XP.

Do your buddies ride the short bus? My XP is stock and untouchable except for mod m1000's.

LOL! I have a monster XP killer but it's for sale so I can buy an XP..

good one!:D

Hey AKsummit I dont know that I would call the D8 a turn key sled a friend of mine has a 163 Dragon and he has blew 4 belts and 4 pull cords in 400 miles. I dont consider that turn key, I have a 07 summit X 159 with 976 miles on it with the stock belt and runs great.

last year i had a xrs and loved the sled, ran like a champ and the m1000 and doo 1000 had not a chance at it...i had the dynoport pipe on it, with regular cluch updates all under warrenty

this year i have the xpx, i did all my own setup on this sled and it has never let me down yet... i did the warmers, hanguards, drivshaft welding and moved the secondary out 3mm and since then never look back, the BB just finished the package

last week we had a xrs with us and i had a chance to ride it, as much as i loved the sled last year, it felt cumbersome and alkward to this years xps... power felt much less, maybe the track... but now i love the xp and will not look back

Both are good sleds...

I doubt you can go wrong with either sled - bear in mind the internet blows things wayyy out of proportion. That being said, every sled needs a little tuning / tweaking to make it all it can be. (Good dealer is a must).
And for the record, the doo 800XP can / does / did beat up on the RT1000 in stock configuration - so did the 05 /06 / 07. Hell, my 04 159X would - just needed to pack a lunch when climbing - it was a slow machine in terms of track speed. But the M1000 is another story, unless the guy on it cannot ride, or it is set up poorly. Make no mistake - it comes down to the rider when you are talking stock to stock. FredW, I do not doubt your 885 twin will beat up on an M1000, especially cause Ralph built it. But if it would kick a** and take names when it was stock, I doubt you would have spent that kind of coin. I've no doubt in my mind that the XP800 is the best sled in the 800 class, but you are comparing apples to oranges. I've ridden both, and would have an XP800 in the stable as a backup sled this year if the local dealer had been easier to deal with. The way it worked out, I got a smoking deal on an M8 and modded it for less money then a stock Everest 154". No warranty now, but haven't had any issues with it, either. Wifey likes it - that's all that matters.

rev 2006 and XP 2007

There is no question that the 2006 Rev is the best Rev made. Summit800 rides with me and that sled rocks, head, clutch work, pipe, jetting, and some funny fuel. Man you should see that sled rip.

I have a 1000 Skidoo last year with twins and there is no way it could keep up with my stock XP, the XP may not have the ponies that the 1000 did, but it sure makes up for it everywhere else.

Not sure how many people have ridin St Helans before, but last weekend was the SH!7.
