They were fun, before the points got huge. The system could be improved if:
- Rep points were enforced, given for useful posts and not just for fun
- Users could vary the amount of points given... there was a time I gave over 3k points in one hit... but some posts didn't deserve 100% of that... maybe give "half-rep" or equivalent.
It was fun when it was new, shiny toys and all that, but it got old after the first few months. Once you're on here long enough you start to figure out who the good guys are and who to avoid.

I think they were pointless because there is too many people that are immature and didnt know how to use it. A lot of people did'nt have any reason for giving good or bad rep which made it pointless to even look at what peoples rep was in the event of making a purchase or something like that.
