Reported Avalanche: Superbowl

My dad is on the Summit County S&R. They just got paged out on an avalanche in the Western Uintas, reportedly in the Superbowl area (yamaha hill). There are two burried without beacons. Lets hope everyone is ok. Again, this is a sign of the danger that is lurking when you ride where you are not supposed to be. Keep your fingers crossed.

Dang it!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate hearing this.:mad: And I hate hearing no beacons!!!!:confused: Fingers crossedxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

please keep us informed on any new updates. please everyone be safe and ride smart avalanches are going to happen especially after all this snowfall in such a short period of time. stay of the f**king hills!

I thought that area was closed. Was up there this weekend all hills were moving. No Beacons is very ugly and slim. Better hope they are close to the surface. Slides up there get huge.

Hope to hear a good report.

KSL is posting a breaking news on it looks like a 15 year old Have my fingers crossed and prayers are going out.:(

This is beyond belief! I know nobody is planning on getting in an avalanche when they go out. I hope for good news out of this one. I, in no way want to be non-sensative about the situation. How many is it going to take? Everytime I read about another avy that someone gets buried in i get pissed. Come on no beacons. If you are going into the backcountry expect the worse. Its almost (it is) like a death trap right now if you go on the steep and deep. There are plenty of fun, safe places to ride without showing everyone how big your johnson is.

Please everybody be safe and use your friggn heads for something besides a hat rack.

Ride to ride another day.

There is only one buried and it is Brett Ellingfords boy Hayden. Please pray for the family. This will be very hard on them. The ellingfords are wonderful people and it is sad to see this hit home. Please play smart guys...this really hurts.

only can wish I was there to help! I can't believe this with all of the warnings out there. We need to set up a avy warning with all the local shops. 15 deaths in N. America in the last 10 days. Unbelievable!

This makes me so angry and very sad!!!! :( I have a 14 1/2 year old. My heart sunk when I saw this. Hoping for the best but fearing the worst. :brokenheart:

I feel like I could type a whole lecture here but won't and I feel pissed off everytime I here this news. AAAAAAAAAARG:mad:

RIP Buddy:rose::brokenheart:

SO sad!!!! That poor dad and family! If the challenge is too big to stay off the hills and out of the bowls...PLEASE just stay home! Everyone watch some bowl games and let the sleds dry out! Heart breaking!!!

:brokenheart::rose::rose::rose: Heart breaker to hear of a young life lost. RIP :brokenheart: This can be avoided. Prayers out to the family.:rose::rose::rose:

He wasn't climbing the hill. I don't know if someone was or if it was remotely triggered. He was at the bottom and had his back to it. Very, very sad. If you are a father, it should really hit home.

How many more people have to die before people get the clue. STAY OFF THE HILLS!!!!!!!!!!
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I don't know what I would do if I lost my boy.
