Rental options

Hey I'm from minnesota and I will be in Loungmount for work looking to make a long weekend out of it. It is me and my girlfriend she is more of a trail rider. I like to trail ride and mess around in spots in the powder. We would like to rent some sleds for 2 days and stay within 2 hours from longmount is this possible? Any recommendations for rentals and places to ride? Thanks

Louis

"On the trail rentals" in Grand Lake might work-but more like 3 hrs from Longmont. Excellent trail system and outstanding mountain views.

Be prepared for altitude sickness-8,500-10,500'

Took some guys to On The Trail, this year's sleds, and prices were alright, good access to trails and some climbs. No problem with the 4 sleds guys in my group rented.

Nick at On the Trail will definitely hook you up! He's got 2012 Pro RMK 600's, Arctic Cat Proclimb 1100's, and ski doo summit sp 600's for the guys that like to ride off trail and so MXZ 550F's for the ladies that like to stick to the trials! I'd say if the roads are clear you could make it up in two and a half hours, but if your coming up on a weekend you should call ahead as they get pretty busy!

Thanks for the tips, on the trail sounds like what I'm looking for
Would it be easier for just me and my girlfriend to go out on our own or should we get a guide? We are not very familiar with any type of riding in your area, just ours. Especially avalanches and those types of things. .. FYI Shes too hot for you dude.

Be advised that there is a Poker Run at Grand Lake this Saturday, Feb 18th. It's being held to benefit Flight For Life Colorado. It will be rather crowded that day. If this is something that you and your GF would enjoy, here's a link to more info:

If it isn't something that you'd enjoy then, Sunday would be a better day to go.

I would enjoy something like that. Guess I should have Posted the dates we would be there.... March 16 and 17.
Ah, Ok. Yes, I thought you were coming this weekend since you said "long weekend" and it is Presidents Day holiday. Hey, no prob!

Anyway, March is good time and hopefully we'll have more snow by then. Like BackCountryBob said, Grand Lake is a cool town and nice place to stay; lodging is reasonable unlike many of the ski resorts.

You don't need a guide, there are maps and signs all over the place. They got "you are here" maps at every intersection. It's the most signed area I have seen.

Hi Bob,
Yes, all is well. Work has kept me very busy for quite some time now. These past few seasons we haven't ridden very much at all.

How are things with you?

I just retired and have put lots of mid week miles on the old iron. Grand kids are now old enough to ride so we rent 3 sleds for them from Extreme Rentals in Lakewood which includes a 4 place trailer so we ride Lake Granby and Grand Lake. So far, no BCL or duke1N sightings:face-icon-small-con at GapperLake.

You're just in time to snow check a new RMK PRO:face-icon-small-ton Are you guys still riding Cotton Wood? How's the snow? Enjoy the best part of the season,

I am green with envy!

We haven't ridden C-wood this year at all.

>snowcheck a new Pro.....

I'm still riding the old iron. I don't think I can bring myself to get rid of it!

We are getting closer to going on our trip to Colorado. Looking at renting from on the trail snowmobile rentals. Does it look like grand lake will still have good snow a week from now?? Or does anyone have any other suggestions as to where there is a good place to go with enough snow to snowmobile? Thanks.
