Recommendation on Youth Sled for 12 Year Old Boy

Looks like your kids are doing great on that setup. I would love to see some video of them tearing it up.

I'll try to post some vids here.

Here is my son pictured in the American Snowmobiler magazine when he was 12 years old with his new 2007 Polaris 600 144" SwitchBack in the Bighorns.

Six years later in Cooke City with his new 2013 Polaris 800 Pro RMK LE 155". It's been a great ride but it's not cheap.

I agree on the Axys 600 Pro RMK. Here are some pictures of my nine year old. Fuel a dealer in Wi has one more of these for sale for about $7,500. We put the electric start kit on in an evening. I know it's insane for a young kid to have this new of a sled. That was a hard thing for my wife and I to be ok but ultimately decided that we knew what we were getting and when we go on vacation to ride I wanted a sled that would perform and not have to be worrying about jetting so the performance is there to assist with the maneuvering of the weight of the sled vs his 63 lbs. He gets compliments every time we go out from others on how well he handles his sled. His only advantage was that he started racing sleds at 4. Have fun. They're only young once. No regrets.

Aren't you the one who built up some 120s a few years ago?

Yes...time flies. It is fun to look back and see how the kids have progressed. It won't be long and I will be trying to keep up with them! Good luck to all you young fathers bringing your kids up in the world of snowmobiling. Totally worth it.

This is my 14 year old daughters rides throughout her short life.

I snowchecked a Switchback Assault 600 this year. I told the wife it’s for her. But really it’s for my daughter in a few years after she grows out of the 440 fan. I’m swapping a RMK front end over for her revalving all 4 shocks and calling it a day. My wife comes out once or twice a year so not only does my daughter get a next to new sled....I can enter more classes at the local drag and hillclimb races! Hahaha

My sons been riding his 12 600 Pro rmk 155 since he was 12...14 now. Great sled. My daughter rides a 07 Yamaha Phazer GT, which is an amazing trail sled. She really has fun on it and mom can ride it to. We are currently stretching it out to a 144.
