Recommend Siping on TOYO MTs?

Getting new toyos this week.
Anybody run them siped vs. not? These tires hold up better or worse?

The last hooves i had on there (bfg-at-kos) one got ruined. when replaced, they stuck a siped tire on there because it was "the only one we have in stock".
As the tires wore and towards the end of their life the siped tire was absolutely chewed up and destroyed... Now, I doubt the toyo would disintegrate just because its blocks are huge... and probably a good idea to sipe them for any kind of good wet road and packed snow condition?

What kind of truck are you running them on? I've heard heavier trucks eff up siped tires. I went with out cause I have a heavy truck, also went A/T instead of M/T. Got tired of listning to M/T's going down the road.

Just put a fresh set on my 06 dmax....my original set was maybe 30% so I'm gonna throw them back on for the summer and keep the sipped ones for the nasty roads in the winter. So far the traction is unreal. really happy.

Well, truth be known I just got rid of my Ram Cummins (the one that ate the sipped tires). Ill be putting the toyos on my new Tundra 5.7.

You're out of the diesel club?????

yep, its true. Gone are the days of the fun black smoke, making kids cover their ears when u drive by, and 22mpg.

I will miss that truck a lot, but in hindsight I went through 2 dogs and a wife with it. That thing never saw good sex anyway. When I was cleaning it out I found everything from shopping lists in "her" handwriting to the dog tags from Yoxy and Root...but on a good note, my favorite piece of treasure I found was this photo (ryan and jason from years ago--HAHAHAHA! ryan on a 583 summit!!). anyway it was time for a big change.

and, Logjammin....
If Pateros is the eastside, where are you, Coleville?

Thanks guys, for the help with the TOYO question.

Going on the second year on a set of Toyo m/T's siped. Love them, outstanding traction, and wear looks great. I drive quite a bit year round, about 20,000 this year on these tires, and they've done great.

I wouldn't recommend the MT's. I have a set of (non siped) 35's on my mega cab. I haven't even hit 20k miles yet and they are down to about 25% tread. I bought them cause they are one of the few E load rated 35's. I am extremely Happy with them except the longevity and the fact that they absolutely suck on icy roads. A friend of mine has the same sized (siped) on his cummins qc and they seem to do allot better on slick roads but they are about worn out at 25k miles.

Damn!!!!!! Look at my hair in that picture!!!! I have a bunch of pictures of Ryan on that 583.......actually one comes to mind let me see if I can find it!! I think that picture was on the rim of the crater at Crater lake in 96. Man those were the days!!!

just saw on T V so it must be true (right?) that some dealers are not going to honor that warantee if tires are siped after market...........if they come that way o k but not if it was done later...I run them on my 95 p s supercab and love them.............

Toyo Open Country AT's siped two sets. Awesome pulling 4 place and 2 place enclosed with Nissan Titan.

Got right at 34,000 on both sets. Pulled up forrest roads live at 7800' out in boonies. Loved these tires. they were so quiet on the highway the rest of the year also.

I'm still running my siped M/T 35's. I had them on my 99 F350 for 35K and then swapped 'em over to my '02 F250 for another 12K. I probably ought to swap 'em for some new skins pretty soon, there's about 1/8" of tread left. Real happy with 'em siped. Next time I'm gonna get a set of 37's for the summer and studded 35's in the winter, if I can.
