Supposedly in the deep powder challenge you posted sled girth at foot position as

PC 36
Pro 35.5
XM 36.5

Did you use the tape you gave your wife?

I don't know 100% on the XM and Pro as of 2014 but I know the PC didn't change one bit on this measurement.
If you put a tape under the Boards and measure running board width where the plastic meets the boards its 33" on the PC.
The last measurement I took on a pro and XM (last year demo's) are

XM 35
PC 33
Pro 29

Thus making the pro the best narrow sled for the steepest sidehills and why I modified my PC to the same width. Not only does it make a huge difference, it works a 100% for this riding style and turned my sled into a true extreme backcountry capable sled much like the Pro.

So apparently someone took notice and made up some ridiculous numbers to fool the part of the public that actually believes this propaganda.
What ever happened to pointing out the Honest strong points and weaknesses.
Like the pro is the most capable stock sled for the most extreme backcountry riding
The Pro-Climb, the best of all worlds for 95+% of riders but not the best in some, its a amazing sled but in the most extreme it needs a little work but don't worry most of you wont know.
The XM, well its a lot better than the XP so if you like that you will love this one.
Yami, it is what it is, be happy for that.

Everyone has there style and preference and I'm not bashing any of them because they all have very strong points for ppls riding style, other than some cats eat belts faster than you can buy them (but thats a personal issue apparently)
All I'm saying is I can have a blast on any of them and am not bias (maybe a little sarcasm, lol), I just know my style and what I want, I also Know the measurements and that article is a straight up misleading piece of propaganda!

Even if there is some way you found the sled girth to be those measurements it is 100% misleading!!!! The width that matters is the one that makes first contact with the snow on a sidehill!!

Disclaimer
ALL IN ITS JUST "IMO" because these days ppl just can't handle the facts and its a everybody wins mentality.

Hold on now. You're trying to say that snowest mag MIGHT not be 100% forthcoming about strengths and weaknesses of the various machines?

it seems to me since i joined this forum its getting worse!!! its like a place for people to vent b*tch moan cry ect. after a hard day at work.lighten up, its not so bad.

Why does everyone have to go there, acting like there being bully'd.

Don't worry about it, if your ever around me you would see that at the end of the day its all about having a good time.
I just don't put up with being miss lead or inaccurate info, since I don't care what anyone thinks I take the hit for the ppl that don't speak up

if sleds were the best finished product then there would be no need for forums..

forums are for rooting out the bad..getting fixes for them..and then getting back to enjoying what your sled should have been in the first place...no matter which the brand..

if a nose gets out of joint rooting out the issues then that nose doesn't belong on a forum..

This has nothing to do with which sled is better or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has to do with misleading information to propagandize the idea the sleds are closer to the same than they really are. Its not even BS its a straight up manipulation!

Thats all I'm saying

The only way for you to really prove your point Wyo is to boycott Snowest.com:)

Funny, not a single person who actually has anything useful to add to a thread about a simple, verifiable clear data point... a measurement with a tape measure.

I measured a 12 PC, 13 XM and 12 PRO a month or so ago, and there is no way the snowest mags #'s are correct. In fact, they are WAY off. WyoBoy has reason to complain IMO. Misleading the public who pays for your services is the wrong way to do business. I like accurate info.

So Jordan what were your measurements? How close are they really? Guy I ride with has a 12 PC and a 10 m8 and still feels the m8 handles steep sidehills better and says he is more comfortable on the m8 overall., but the PC is better all around sled for all situations.

My measurements were very close to Wyoboys on the PC and XM. Main difference is I have airframes on my pro, so they came out to ~30.2". Actually my 2010 M8 with airframes came out to just shy of 30". All were measured at the front widest point on the boards. Body width is another topic. I'm guessing snowest didn't measure all sleds equally at the front of the boards.

Unfortunately none of us have a 2014 sitting in the garage so we got nothing. I doubt it is any different than the 12 or 13 though. Wyo's point is valid and probably spot on. Its almost like Snowest went out of there way to get him ranting. They must of read project skinny right?

Does anyone really expect to get unbiased critical evaluations of new sleds from Snowest magazine. I certainly don't.

Regardless of my love hate relationship with Wyo I would much rather read a sled evaluation from him than some chump in the magazine who's editor gets big advertising dollars from the big 3. I may disregard some of Wyo's ranting but at least I know he will cut the BS and he knows what he is talking about.

The 13 and 14 are the same from a measurement standpoint from all 3 mfg actually. I actually am going with the sled with the narrowest arms, and wider boards, so it's not something that bothers me. As long as I can use the board as an edge like you would on a snowboard, to downhill sidehill, I feel it's something I can live with. I can get any of them to panel out on steep stuff, but how it deals with it from there is actually what concerns me more. If I can edge it down in a controlled manner from paneling, I can make it work.

but to the measurements... a review is one thing, inaccurate information is another. I just got the mag yesterday though (still not sure why I get them), and did think there was some useful info in there, aside from the personal reviews, the comparison of pivot points and body width vs ski/ arm width was good to see in picture form even if useless in number form.
