Rave valves

Where are the rave valves located on a 2007 summit x and which hose am i supposed to check for leaks i took my sled ou last weekend and could not pull over 7500 rpm and would top out at 57mph the sled has a new 08 motor so i dont think it has to do with the crank issues from the 07

Rave valves are located near the top of your cylinders on the front side facing the pipe. A round 2 inch black circle with a red button in the middle. Look up a parts diagram at www.skidooparts.com and you can see the exploded view.

As far as testing the hose you'll have to wait for another owner to chime in.......I am still on an old sled;)

3D Rave Test:

1. Pull the black covers off of both rave valves.
2. Refer to service bulletin 2007-11 for a visual picture of the three positions for the valves.
3. With sled off, valves should be in partially open position (atmosphere). Before starting, remove wire safety clips that hold the electrical connectors to the solenoids in place.
4. Start sled, valves should move to closed position (vacuum).
5. With sled running, unplug electrical connector to PTO side solenoid. Valves should move back to the partially open position since you just disconnected the vacuum side.
6. With PTO solenoid unhooked, unhook MAG side solenoid with engine running. Rave valves should pop to fully open position without revving up the engine.

Have FUN!

Mag and Pto refer to your cylinders and which side.:)

Mag= Magneto=Pull cord side of the engine.
PTO=Power Take Off=Clutch side of the motor

Just a way to always identify which cylinder is being addressed.:D

Thanks for all the help guys i went home and checked the raves and the hose was fallen right off on the mag side solenoid so i added a small hose over the nipple cut it flush then put the hose back on that hose is way to big for that nipple no wonder if fell off now its on there good and tight and i am pulling 8300 rpm and the sled rips!!!!

Right on! I did the same thing with that hose; a design flaw of the '07 for certain!

Cheers,

G

i have attached the recall notice for the 07 Rave Valves. It gives troubleshooting tips and tells you what to do.
