Ran M7 out of fuel, now won't start!

Hey guys I need some help I did something really stupid this Weekend..I ran my M7 out of fuel. I put fuel in it when I got back to the truck, won't start. What do I do?

But, it going to take awhile to get the fuel back thru the system to let it start, not just one or two pulls. Just a thought, but I have yet to run an M out of gas, so I don't really know.

 

[RACINSTATION]

Ryan. Spray some starter fluid in the airbox (just a little) and this will prime the engine to get that pump going. Also reach into your gas tank and feel the smart valves (fuel pickups) make sure they are all springing back. When you run out of fuel they will snap shut and sometimes not re-open. That should get you going.

hook a battery to the fuel pump wires, that will prime it.

Ran my 10 M8 completely out of fuel last year. It sputtered off/on for 100 yards or so then died. Took like 100 pulls to get it going.

The next time it started to sputter I shut it off right away and it started right up no problem.

Heard about the battery trick afterward.

I made a little jumper by buying a 9v cap and soldered 2 small alligator clips on the wires. Just need to know for sure how to hook it up now.

Anyone have more details on exactly where to connect it? I believe it is the connection right in front of the fuel tank but it looks like may need to remove the aluminum heat shield on the steering hoop to access it?

Sometimes these threads look like how to complicate the easy. Just pull the plugs and put a dribble of gas into each cyl. Couple pulls and you will be going. Just that simple. No batterys, clips or starter fluid.

That is what I do also, also handy for hard starting/cold blooded sleds. The old mm doesn't like to start when it is cold, might have to do it twice but a lot better then wearing yourself out before the ride even starts.

I carry a piece of small clear line, that allows you to suck a bit of gas into the line and then put it into the sparkplug hole, much better than using a gas can.

Yeah, but doing it that way I found it takes waaaay too long to soak down the whole top of the engine and everything nearby.

Thanks for all your help everyone. But I was gonna unload in out of the trailer today to work on it, and I tried to start it and it started on the second pull and ran fine, so I think I am good to go..

Put your mouth on the Fuel filler And blow hard as you can. It will force the fuel to the pump. If nothing else it will give you a cool ring on your face.......
