any decent riding near there?
i got a line on a place there for and wanted to know if it was worth the trip. i already know il have to trailer from the lodge 10-20 mins to the trail head accourding to the resort employee . would it be worth it to lodge in radium and trailer into ride?

thanks tons!

looking at the map it seams its close to golden , , hear thats ok there, it that much worse only down the road like they say banff is? :P

Golden can be great; there is quite a bit of more remote stuff between Radium and Gold as well as more established stuff like around Panorama (Paradis Mines and Hunters I think). Silent Pass is south of Golden...there is quite a bit within an hours drive. I've never sledded out of Radium/Invermere but I know guys that do and love the area.

thanks alot Shawnmcgr , exactly what i was looking for, so basicly find the trail and that can take me to some decent riding? i got topos/gps

obviously im not from the area, but i want to go to some places that arnt sledding hotspots but just as good as the famous ones that get most of the riders

hey Shawnmcgr,
can you say what the permit costs for bc or this area , im trying to search online and getting buried in jibberish with the search engine.

need a passport to enter canada, trail permit is all thats needed then?
talked to a guy that said bc isnt hardcore on that stuff like ab is /shrug
thanks again man , hope to be comin up there this winter if we can get enough guys to fill a truck :P

ok found the entry and exit stuff to canada ,, cant find any permit info though

Lots of awesome riding in Radium and just to the north all the way to and in Golden. Not to mention south as well. No trail permits required. There may be someone collecting $15 at the parking lot if the trail has been groomed (well worth it). Half the people you will see there will be from Alberta., guess where the best riding is.

The only trail permit I've heard of near Radium is the Paradis Mine trail. I think there is an outfitter that grooms the trail periodically as he rents machines. Bear in mind...no trail fee no groomy!

In the Golden, most groomed trails require a trail pass from the club. Gorman and Quartz get groomed regularly. Silent pass is south of Golden and an easy drive from Radium but I'm not sure how often it gets groomed.

The only thing you need to be aware of are closures for heliskiing. There dosen't seem to be a reliable place to get this info. Otherwise get a Backroads map book and you can sled on just about any logging road that is not plowed.

ttyl Shawn.

I don's see any pictures...not sure why?

when were those pics taken?? I don't imagine it was within the last 2 months..

The last two were late May '07 in Radium. It was probably like that in June this year.

Minet, where you coming from?

Shawn, there is a setting in your preferances to allow pics to come up. If you have dial-up you may not want that at times.

Great riding at Forester area and Rocky Point. These are the main areas with in 1/2 hour of Radium. Paradise Basin is more of a 1/2 day site seeing trip. There is also the Brewer Creek area but you will find the locals at Forester or Rocky.

You can contact the Windermere Snowmobile club for more info. Trail fees are $ 10.00 per sled if no one is collecting there are deposit boxes at the parking and the first cabin that you can use. For some info on the area you can go to you tube and search for Invermere boys summer sledding this will give you an idea of the area.

JMCX - I've got all image options turned on....must be something else. I seem to be able to see some images and not others.

Good to hear you can sled there in May; I usually head to Revelstoke in late may/early June for the last ride of the season.

Shawnmcgr,
