Rabbit Ears weekend reports

Sorry, you're across the state line, go pound SAND:face-icon-small-sho

I will....IF ... Another greenie never sets foot in the snowies or glendo state park in Wyoming ;)

....

Except for that to happen we'd have to find a way to kick all the Califortards and Texasses out of Colorado :(

Nice not to have to leave the trail, but I'll always find fresh at RE....not far off. It's hard not to welcome my brother sledders, wherever they're from. I meet a lot of great peeps from all over up there and it's hard to begrudge them a powder day on the ear's. We get to see a lot of them...some of our visitors only get a few to remember... If your a local, you have nothing to whine about, you can always take a mid-week sick-day to take advantage of a powder day when the lot is empty :)

Huh? Your 200 miles from the snowies or Glendo?? Explore your backyard, you'll forget all about CO and our "problems".

I'm still a Wyomingite even though I've been away for 6 years ;)

So yeah, the Utahns hate me too. Thanks. I feel so loved :(

I might as well continue to high jack this thread, some pics from this weekend.... What a jack that works can do and and why Marks sled looks like a duct tape factory exploded all over it and what fresh snow looks like that those snow robbing outa staters have not tore up yet.... Great day of tree riding... :face-icon-small-hap

LOL. Marks looking good...good and stuck in his fancy new coat. I member him wearing a Klim that was more duck tape than jacket! Nice to see the "old man" still tearing it up! SHOUT OUT!

Ooops!!

....gotta say the motorfist is one tough jacket.......who can fix my sled? it dies out intermittently while i'm riding...usually when i need it the most....riding along and it goes directly to idle then back to life....then back to idle...to power.....hot, cold, fast, slow, whenever......it will only do it while i'm riding it as opposed to hanging in the garage where it is flawless.....there's no middle ground, no blubbering or bogging.... it goes as throttled and intermittently drops right to idle and back.....see ya out there if i get it fixed

We drove over RE yesterday on our way home from Midnight Ranch and it was snowing hard (just before noon). Hopefully the cold air held off and the storm was able to lay some decent snow down.

My throttle safety switch started acting up a month ago, exact same symptoms.

Hey wait a minute, weren't you the one complaining about how people "reporting" on RE makes it a ****hole to ride and too many pricks show up there and everything, and how last weekend there wasn't a single CO plate in the MC lot, blah blah blah, etc? :)

LOL. I basically stated that the snow sucked without just saying it. Does the snow look good in that pic? Up close and you can see the 2" thick crust that was all over that Sunday. Ask Beergut, not much fresh deep to be found. It was a hero snow day if I ever saw one.

Check your throttle cable. they have a plastic liner in the cables that can melt and bind the cable up, thus activating the TSS switch Skib mentioned. That cable should slide very freely. Doesn't take much friction to keep it from returning properly. When I ran twin pipes I had to replace a couple of cables due to this.

PS, I too found the cracked steering post mounting point. Glad you mentioned it, or I might not have looked until too late.

Mmmmmmmm, no, I'm pretty sure you were bitching and complaining about out-of-staters, in fact I still have the IRC log if you'd like me to post it :D

Yep, I was. Don't really like mass pilgrimages of em, but then that feeds right into hunting seasons also.

I mean, does anybody like having their backyard flooded with people? It sucks when you go out in the backcountry, whether it be riding or hunting and you run into large groups. It sucks. And I'm pretty sure those same people bitch and moan when the tourons invade their homelands too.

But that's here nor there.

Find a way to make money off of the people and then and it won't hurt so bad :face-icon-small-hap j/k

Kidding aside - I typically ride the worst area known to snowmobiling for tourists - (Snowys) because that is where our cabin is. You guys at RE have it easy IMO. On holiday weekends we ride the tightest, nastiest areas to get away from the crowds and have an absolute blast. If something is tracked up - who cares - good for them, we'll try to beat them to it next storm. It's snowmobiling - it's supposed to be a fun sport. In a few years when my kid starts riding I will probably be looking for tracked up stuff so I don't have to dig her heavy yamaha electric snowmobile out as often....

R/E is LAME! You all should just stick to Vail Pass. That's the best place around. Always fresh snow, no crowds, good parking area, and close to Denver! It's win, win!!!
