Quietest snow check ever

The difference is they bumped prices way up this year.

The 165 pro slash boost I snow checked this year was only $1k higher than the same 2022 config. Considering a 7% inflation year that’s pretty good. They are all going up. Just wait till next year. UffDa!!

Colors and paint have been add-on's during snowcheck for years. Same price this year as last. Not that it means anything - beyond Boost and 9R, snowcheck builds are pretty meaningless, just marketing eye candy.

I guess its been a couple of years since I checked and really paid that close of attention. No wonder the price is so much higher now.

Same boost for me went up $2,300 since last year. $20,300 last year $22,600 this year. Given the state of things, ($100,000 pick ups) that seems about right. As far as next year, I don’t think the price will increase much. Yes, people are willing to pay whatever ridiculous cost to get the unobtainable, but they are hitting the limit of what a snowmobile can cost. With a lot of the parts now sourced in Jackie Chan land, a big price increase seems stupid. I mean, it’s just a fuc*n snowmobile. But who knows.
After this 9R, I might take next year off for snow checking. This is the sled I was hoping for back when they released the first pos near 20 years ago. That made me go buy a 05 queen cat. Still have a bad taste in my mouth. After the 1010 D&D, you didn’t ride it, it rode you.....to scary places.
 
Supply vs demand .. sure but there are deals to be had. It's the OEMs job to sell new stuff so guess what - they hype the $hit out if it. New & Improved. No doubt that there are some improvements but for most buyers they're not close to using the abilities of their last model year sled.
There's still deals to be had on used - just have to be patient ...

You do. And time it right. Don't go looking for a deal in November, look now when guys now have multiple payments after their sleds finally get here and they still have their old ones.
 
I'm guessing that instead of waiting to see what they need to order, many of the parts have already been ordered in an attempt to get ahead of supply chain delays.

They know they can only get x amount of 7s displays by a certain point (November?) so they're limited.

I thought I heard tracks were backordered last year so they probably ordered most of them already too, hence the track length specific allocations.

Just a theory I had, but the release video did mention they're starting their ordering much earlier than normal.
My dealer got TWO custom snowchecks in an 850. Track length and model are predetermined, no choice. Only options are the rest of colors and such. The rest of the 850 are stocking models and are one color, no choices. I bet those ones are already being built or are built. Probably built and waiting on the same parts that the 2022 guys are still waiting on to get their sleds.

I had a cat mod straight from Black Magic with some speed works zooms fast parts that was like that. Only gears was stop and try to hold on. You were just along for the ride with just a little influence in direction as it went off in your hand. Only burnt the motor down twice after hitting warp speed. I just remember after stopping I would just walked around giggling like Beavis till I calmed down. God it was terrifying. How I never got a scratch let alone die is beyond me.

Only one 9R allocated and I never even asked about the boost. I wanna get back on an N/A sled for all the tree riding we do. Always get skunked on pow so the turbo isn’t it anymore for me personally. Nothing over a 155 available by 9 a.m. yesterday here. I get it, but it still sucks. They aren’t gonna oversell their position.

Genuinely interested in what Cat does this year now. Dealer I talked to said they didn’t have any trouble getting mountain sleds this year. My Polaris dealer just got his 850 Khaos a week or so ago. If I can’t order what I want for $18k + I’m not gonna settle for what Polaris allots us. I was hopeful with the in-season availability of the slash models, but now at least we know that’s limited too.

Polaris definitely made the decisions for everyone this year. Hopefully it straightens out inventory and deliveries and we can get back to somewhat normal in another model year or two.

Pretty bummed about that, but my '19 has been a rockstar, and honestly, with the Raptor Kinetics I put on it, rides as well as it runs, so no biggie to keep another season.
Wife lucked out, 3 out of the 5 - 650 slots were still available, so she got hers :) 155 x 2.75 with std gauge and std shocks. I will most likely move my WE resi's over to her ripper for a bit extra compliance.

Ya perhaps, though with the background help from the gang at Carl's, I'm certain things "should" be solid.
Not the end of the world, just took delivery of the new F350 last week, and now the RMK 650.. expensive last 8 days haha, not going to hurt the savings accounts' feelings to keep some $$ in it

850 went from 4 years to 3 (WTF?)
9R (new) is 2 years
Boost is still 2 years

You'd think with refined manufacturing and improved tech Polaris would preserve these historic warranties, which I'd argue really helps resale if you ride a sled for more than one season. Many don't/can't flip every season. If you hold a snow check for two years, you ideally have some warranty remaining to add value and confidence on the resale.

What were the numbers available to your shop?
Without getting specific online…Overall quite respectable (given the current manufacturing climate) for boost and 9R once you add them up. Biggest gap is Polaris being a little slow to reconcile allocations against the resurgence of the 155” track length in newer sleds the last 2 model years.

Having the allocation broken down by engine, model and track choice is a “thing” tho. Trying to get that lined up with pre-orders, new orders, back-outs, substitutions, and factory pre-canned builds sure is a face-melter at the dealer level lol

Warranties are for poor people ?

If nobody has warranty it doesn't matter on resale.
 
My dealer still has plenty of sleds. They let me snowcheck another turbo and a 9R with sleds still available. People aren't trying very hard. "My dealer doesn't have anymore sleds" is a good way to cover up that you can't afford these ridiculously high priced sleds.
 
Or perhaps people who want to buy cutting edge technology, with a manufacturer who stands behind their product for a reasonable (and now customary) period of time.
Someone who wants cutting edge technology buys a new sled every year. Ask turbolessterry's wife
