Quick drive and drive belt model year compatibility

A local rider is getting out of the sport just as I’m getting in and I’m looking at buying a couple belts from him. I’m on a ‘22 Matryx 850, he has OEM belts for an ‘18 Axys 800. On current parts fiches they take the same part numbered QD and drive belts. However the part number on the ‘18 QD belt is one number off the part number for the ‘22. Can I use the ‘18 QD belt on my ‘22? And same question for the drive belt.

To clarify, the quick look up tools used by many parts sellers say the two sleds take the same part number:

2206046

But the actua part number on the belt is one number off.

There are two possibilities: you could have a series 6 track with QD1 (which uses 22/42 sprockets), or you could have a series 7 or 3" track, which would have QD2 and 22/50 sprockets. Both use the same top sprocket and have the same driveshaft spacing as any AXYS, but the bottom sprocket and belt differs. QD2 is newer, but QD1 is still around (looks like the series 6 and QD1 are still available in '23). 2206046 is the QD1 belt kit; the QD2 belt kit is 2208750. Probably the confusion is because you can't just buy the belt, you buy the kit with a new bolt and washer. If your lower sprocket is a 3222233, 43t sprocket, then you can use the belt from the older sled. Obviously, if you can match the part number on the belt up, you're good to go.

Thank you.
