Question to all flatlanders.

I have mine (slightly) modded out so during the winter when we have little to no snow, I can sit on it in the garage and make sounds like... Braaaaaaap Braaaaaap instead of vroom vroom while watching my tool of a neighbor down the street get his “Awesome” 03 Rev w/beaver tail stuck in the 3” on his front yard and then watch is manwife have to come out and help him get it unstuck.

not only is it a passion, its the great flatlander pastime....nothing like workin on the sleds on sunday with the old man, throwin back a couple cooooold coors delights

I like the way it looks when it sits in the garage 50 weeks out of the year. Actually when getting out there why not have something that you can get around with and have as much fun as possible. The sled itself is already a big investment, why not throw a little more money into it and make it bada$$.

When not out west, I ride in the Lake Effect snowbelts a lot where the powder is often deep... like last year when we got 60 inches of fluff on the Thursday and Friday before Easter (my avatar pic is from April in Michigan). Too bad most of you western guys will never know how much power your sleds can really make down at our elevation in deep pow. :)

its like that guy i saw up her (AK) and he was driving a FORD GT... sicc, a car he can enjoy like 3 months out of the year that costs well over 100000.... why do it? cuz hes got the money and the siccest car in alaska!!

a lot of my friends dont modd there machines, they just put a can on it and make payments on 10g sleds....
i buy old sleds and throw a grand or two into it anf blow there....cowlings off!

and maybe so do i rebuild a motor a year and spend a lotta time under the hood, but what they dont seem to understand is that i accept that, its a mod sled and it demands attention. my sled may run crappy 5 out 10 trips, but i win 10 out of 10 races haha and thats what counts! cheers to that

for me im modding them out cause of my passion for the sport...it gives me something to do during the summer and every chance i get back here when it snows i take it out and ride it...

some of my friends that arent involved in snowmobiling make fun of me for doing it because they dont think its worth it....maybe not to them but for me it makes the sport that much more fun

I have noticed that most flatlanders that ride mountain sleds don't ride stock sleds but ride totally modded out sleds. I'm just curious what justifies spending that extra money on your sled when you live so far from the mountains?

Why do people buy boats, they are a giant waste of money. But they sure are fun. Its kinda tha same thing. "working" on sleds is also a part of it.

are they lightweight? how much do they cost? where can I get streamers? anyone have any more advice on them?

i sell a set that Are 1oz lighter than the competitors and come in red, yellow, blue, orange, green, white, black, purple and even pink and hot pink now. get em while the last! at 200 bucks a set theyll go like hotcakes!!

I wouldnt consider myself a true flatlander because VT is not that flat. But modding a sled is really fun and you always want your sled to be unique or different from the rest. Those are my reasons for modding my sled.

All the mods in the world won't help if you can't ride.......

Seriously though, all I see mostly is flatlanders with wrecked sleds here in Alberta, they come out and try to show off, mainly they just wreck stuff. Sure is fun to watch them try though.....

:)

J/K - some of it's only partially true.:D

I understand this but would you buy a boat if you lived in a desert? J/K

Back to the topic, I totally understand, none of my sleds are stock.
