Question for the ladies, or guys

Your wife sounds like mine. Mine would not be happy with anything less than what I ride. Why should she be? I'll bet if yours rides your 06 THIS winter and you are on the 02, you will have the cash saved up for a new sled soon!!! All bs aside, if you can't or wont ride the old stuff cuz the new is so much easier to ride, and you are the better rider(?) how do you expect her to hang with you all day? Give her an even playing field, and have patience, and you will have a riding partner for life! It's even better when your sled goes down, and she is kind enough to let you take hers and ride with the boys on her sled! It's nice to have a great backup sled, and even better to have a woman that will let you go thrash it!

I have first hand experience with this.... A gal pal of mine was riding a ole 700 rmk and she could ride it dang good. We pulled up to a 5 foot drop and she had no choice but to pin it and win it.... the ole 700 barked but still could not hold front end up on the drop. She nosed in and took near 100 stiches to put her leg back together. She now rides a nicely clutches 600 rev that handles well and still has some spunk.

To the point, let her ride the 06 until you can afford to get something better than the 06 for her to ride, then you can have your 06 back.:face-icon-small-ton you will be amazed at how fast you can save the duckets when you are on the older iron. It is the only right thing for you to do at this point.:(

I bought my wife a M7, way easy for her to handle & plenty of power. I bought her the 153 I figured it would be a little easier to handle than a 162. She has a couple of rides on it this year & loves it. She can start it when its cold or warm which is a plus, not that I mind starting her sled but, she would rather start it herself. THe only bad thing about it is it rides a little rough on the trails & has a little bit of a low end bog other than that its great. I've been trying to get her to let me turbo it but, she doesn't think she will get to ride it if I do that, I don't get it....:)

She tried a rev & hated it. Never got her on a newer Polaris but, I like the way they handle. Thats my rant, Hope it helps.

Don't get caught up on who has the newer sled unless you have the $ available to get another new sled.
My wife and I regularly ride each other's sleds without issue and have been trading off on who has the newer machine. When she got her 1st, 98 ZR, I was on a 95XCR (tank). Her sled was much lighter better susp, etc. Then I moved to a '01 RMK, few yrs later, she got the 05M7, and I still rode the old "tank" RMK. I moved up to the M1k this yr, she'll likely get the next newer sled (in a couple yrs).
The newer chassis', M, IQ, Rev do make powder riding easier, as she never really got the hang of it until the M7 came along.......although after getting comfortable on the M, she could jump on my old RMK and ride it just as well and actually preferred the cut out sway bar and the way the old RMK rolled over easier than her M.
Ride what you got this yr and call it good. An Edge RMK is a good powder machine.

I'm 5'11" 200lbs naked.(not a pretty sight) I spent the last couple of years on an 07 600RMK 155 and loved EVERY ride. I ride mostly Buff Pass and the Ears and avoid the trails when ever possible. There are very few places that my 600 would not go. It will go places and do things that my stock 03 800 RMK could not. And it is far easier to ride. No matter what you ride there will be riders on mods that will bag sick lines that most of us will just look at in awe. Last season was epic around here. 500"+.
Ok, so once in a while I had to poach a line to climb some of the bigger hills. And in the chest deep stuff you really have to ride smart and pick good lines. All just part of riding in the back country.
If money is an issue, go for the 600. Best bang for the buck!
The only problem might be how to explain why you're G.F. can out climb you.
Oh, and I stopped having to carry spare gas like I always did on my 800.
