consolidate the the two or three sections.
personally i have like that there is no politics in fp. I would like to keep it that way.
Why is there less traffic? That one should be obvious. Right or wrong. snowest has lost touch with the majority of its users.

Combine them. The political section wont get heated up again until Obama is up for reelection. The FP section use to be the best section on here, partly due to the political posts that were made and the countless funny stuff. FP is a ghost town as of late.
The answer is pretty simple...
The Politics section gets fired up when...
1) It's an election year
2) Something really controversial comes up (and there's not a pressing sledder issue i.e. the revy avy overshadowed the healthcare mess)
3) It's summer
I say leave the two separate otherwise come October you'll have people who are sick of campaign ads every 30 seconds complaining to have the two broken out again because they're tired of politics.
Sledding is a seasonal sport, politics is bi-annual.
