Putting a Camo Extreme on a 2007 600 ???

After talking with the guy from avid and discussing with SkiBreeze, I am going to get the "bolt on" track with a anti stab kit just in case. If it turns out I have ratcheting or too little clearance I will order the 2.86 7 tooth drivers from avid. I cant see any reason to go to the 3.0 pitch if the 7 tooth 2.86 drivers are available. I am betting I will be just fine with the bolt on track.

I just hope I didnt misunderstand him when he said I could get a smaller driver in the stock pitch.

Does this look right? https://www.avid-products.com/store/ProdDet.cfm?ProdID=103

I don't think that you can get a 7 tooth 2.86 driver.

Why are you going to put the anti-stab kit on? I thought that was only if you where running the avid drivers because you have to cut the rails to make them fit. With the rails shorter then you want the anti stab because the danger of shorter rails, right? Also will the same track work on the 7 tooth driver, or will the track be to long because of the smaller driver? I also thought there was a clearance issue with the track not clearing suspension arm now the driver is smaller. Not sure but maybe that was only on the pro. I am very curious so you will have to post your results!

I didnt realize the Anti-Stabs are only for the avid drivers.

Extros ride in the same line as the rails. This means that the rails have to be shortened, to clear when the suspension travels up. This is why you would need the anti stab.

I just installed a bd kit on my 08 800 155 and love it. I am running stock track, drivers, suspension, and it works awesome. I am not finding what I have been told that," You will need new suspension to handle the added power." I have had it up to 12 pounds and the stock skid works awesome. Now you would probably notice a difference if you where climbing crazy chutes, but IMO I have not seen a need to upgrade. I am not saying that aftermarket skids are not an upgrade, which I am sure they would be nice. I am just saying stock works great! IMO What route are you going to go with the track?

swap tracks to something besides the polaris track, dont matter how much power you have if you cant put it to the ground

I cant believe a track swap can be this difficult. Good thing is this thread can help alot of folks.

Question, lets assume these 7 tooth 2.86 drivers exist. Besides having to add the antistab kit........Is there any other problems or modification required?

I read in the referenced post above that the smaller driver causes clearance issues on the top somewhere.

Smaller drivers can't cause clearance issues, what it could do is prevent the track adjusters from having enough adjustment to tighten the track properly.

If that were to happen a big wheel kit could get that adjustment back....Am I thinking right here?

boston,I started out on my 08 D-8 to do the Pc track..after all the issues with drivers fitting the PC out board nubs..I went with a 2.5 camo extreme..stock drivers..and kurt's(fastraxmotorsports )drop and roll....actually a pretty easy to do setup...took me about 4 hrs to do the D&R..most average guys can do it in a weekend...worth doing in my opinion..has over 1 and 1/16 in clearence at tightest point..can put the 3 in track on if I want..and it works very good..ride, suspension, powder floatability...all improved over stock......

Is the diameter of the 3.0 driver and the 2.86 the same? Once again if I am thinking correctly :face-icon-small-con and assuming they are the same there is no advantage to running the 3.0 track other than it does not have the center punched out to work on the stock polaris center driver.

I will call avid to confirm that there is a 2.86 pitch 7 tooth driver available tomorrow.

Only problem i see with that is if I want to go to a tunnel dump exhaust from the turbo. I want to try and make the turbo as quiet as possible.

3.0 7 tooth driver = 6.69
2.86 7 tooth driver = 6.375

If I dif i did this right....assuming the 7 tooth will clear all the other suspension points fine that the 2.86 7 tooth would actually give me more clearance (whish I gather is better :face-icon-small-dis) than the 3.0

Yes, the 7T clears the track better. A minor consideration is that the drivers are @ 1/2" smaller radius than stock 8T which will actually make the approach angle worse, change your gearing, and possibly have to do a setback or run larger rear wheels.
