Putting a Camo Extreme on a 2007 600 ???

what all is involved with this track swap? The sled is a 660/155 that has a turbo waiting to be installed. I damaged the stocker and am eyeing a replacement sometime in the future. If it is a serious undertaking I may just wait for a new take off or gently used one. We mostly boondock in the deep powder and little hill climbing.

IMO...Run the 156" Camo extreme , it is a 3" pitch track that will allow you run the 7 tooth 3" pitch AVID drivers... you will have the clearance you need... and resistance to ratcheting as well.

Same rails etc...

IMO... Depending on boost levels... You will really want to consider a different rear suspension to keep the sled under control and safe on climbs.

Enjoy...Those turbo kits rock.

So just a track and drivers? Does this track make a noticeable difference over the stocker? Tudizzle has a 08 XP and that thing is like a billy goat. A ski tug gets him out of the biggest trench where mine digs a hole and likes to stay there :face-icon-small-sho

What is the part number for that 156 track? I cant seem to find it. Where will I find the best deal on this track?

put on a 174 and dominate everything, in the trees is where this track really shines, dont let the smart guys that have never ridden a 174 in the trees tell you, you cant turn that thing. Ive ridden 136s 154s 155s 162s 163s nothing comes close to a big camo extreme in the trees 162 minimum

and yes the polaris track is horrible you will be amazed just swaping tracks

It doesn't matter if he can turn the track or not, he won't have a spot in our trailers for it.

lol that might be true, the only turning he will be doing is turning to come back down to help ya get unstuck:face-icon-small-con

Doubtful...You have never ridden with SkiB and Dizzle. They are madmen. I am trying to make up for a lack of talent with more power and track. :focus:

174 turns a crapy rider into a good one yeah some say its too easy they call it the old mans tracks because its very forgiving, so what do you do ??? make the terrain harder. I dont have a big track just because its the IN thing to do, once you ride one in the trees with one you will never go back to a shorty. exspecially with a really dialed in 600turbo iam running a 174 d7 with twins and it works frickin awsome pulled 47mph track speed last weekend

Just got off the phone with tracks and they claim there is one that will bolt right on with no modifications. Does this sound right?

The 9104 Challenger Extreme 2.5" is a "bolt on" track for the Polaris sleds... It does not have very much clearance though.

This is why I recommend the 9974M 156" x 15" x 2.5"-lug with 3" pitch wich will give you better clearance and less parasitic moving snow through the tunnel...

The diference in cost is the price of the drivers. Both are about $650 each (awesome price BTW) from Tracks USA and they have them both in stock I'm sure.

Your sled does not have the center driver anyway.

The track that Jack Struthers (Carl's Cycles) swears by in this chassis is the Arctic Cat Powerclaw 153"... he has installed dozens of these in sleds with nothing but rave reviews on both turbo and naturally aspirated sleds. Avid has driver for this in both extrovert and non extrovert models. With 7 tooth drivers... plenty of clearance AND they fit your stock rails.

Many people have used the 2.5" 9104 tracks without issues and love them... It is a Great track and as Bruce said it is a direct-swap.

IMO... you will have better performance with a bit more lug-tip clearance.

What are you running for suspension in your new Turbo?

There is, but doing what mh said will give you more track to tunnel clearance. But you will want to also install a anti-stab kit. The thinking is what you will gain from installing the track will be lost do to the loss of clearance because of the taller/stiffer lugs.

I plan on running the stock suspension for now. If the wheelies are uncontrollable I will worry about that later. I really don't climb all that much.

I just installed a bd kit on my 08 800 155 and love it. I am running stock track, drivers, suspension, and it works awesome. I am not finding what I have been told that," You will need new suspension to handle the added power." I have had it up to 12 pounds and the stock skid works awesome. Now you would probably notice a difference if you where climbing crazy chutes, but IMO I have not seen a need to upgrade. I am not saying that aftermarket skids are not an upgrade, which I am sure they would be nice. I am just saying stock works great! IMO What route are you going to go with the track?

After talking with the guy from avid and discussing with SkiBreeze, I am going to get the "bolt on" track with a anti stab kit just in case. If it turns out I have ratcheting or too little clearance I will order the 2.86 7 tooth drivers from avid. I cant see any reason to go to the 3.0 pitch if the 7 tooth 2.86 drivers are available. I am betting I will be just fine with the bolt on track.

I just hope I didnt misunderstand him when he said I could get a smaller driver in the stock pitch.

Does this look right? https://www.avid-products.com/store/ProdDet.cfm?ProdID=103
