How many are actually paying attention to this?
There are African Americans,
Mexican Americans,
Asian Americans,
Arab Americans,
Native Americans, etc.
...And then there are just -
Americans.
You pass me on the street
and sneer in my direction.
You Call me "White boy,"
"Cracker," "Honkey,"
"Whitey," "Caveman,"
... And that's OK.
But when I call you ******,
Kike, Towel head,
Sand-******, Camel Jockey,
Beaner, Gook, or Chink
... You call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot
of violence against you,
so why are the ghettos the most
dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi.
You Have Yom Hashoah.
You have the NAACP.
And you have BET.
If we had WET

...We'd be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day
... You would call us racists.
If we had White History Month
...We'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites
to "advance" OUR lives
... We'd be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,
a Black Chamber of Commerce,
and then we just have the plain
Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that?
If we had a college fund that only gave
white students scholarships
...You know we'd be racists.
There are over 60 openly-proclaimed
Black-only Colleges in the US ,
yet if there were "White-only Colleges"
... THAT would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March,
you believed that you were
marching for your race and rights.
If we marched for our race and rights,
... You would call us racists.
You are proud to be black,
brown, yellow and orange,
and you're not afraid to announce it.
But when we announce our white pride
... You call us racists.
You rob us,
carjack us,
and shoot at us.
But, when a white police officer
shoots a black gang member
or beats up a black drug-dealer
who is running from theLAW and
posing a threat to ALL of society
... You call him a racist.
I am proud.
... But, you call me a racist.
Why is it that only

I've seen jobs with the State Dept. here that say "native american" preference. If someone were to put an ad in that asked for clear english speaking, well dressed, clean cut, caucasian, they'd get slapped with a lawsuit.

My sister Married a black man, believe it or not my nephews and niece, not long ago as children were treated with disrespect, even in places like banks.... just trying to cash a check.

It is this disrespect that makes many that way.

I can understand in a way why they still are striving to get equality in many ways, I have seen it first hand how the 19th century mentality still thrives. They have been called many things under the sun.

Question is...

Do you consider people with colored skin an equal?
Until everyone does, you will see the battle of racism.

A black president.
I have zero problem with that. A few years back there was a black congressman (Sorry, I can't for the life of me remember his name). He was one of 2 or 3 black republicans. He came out and denounced the likes of Al Sharpton and the other race peddlers. He announced he was sick and tired of hearing people like Al Sarpton tell black men that they couldn't make it in American without help from people like him. He stated the black man was held back by his ego and his pride. If he wanted to get ahead, he would have to start at the bottom and work his way up, just like everyone else. There were no free rides to success. I would have voted for that man in a heart beat.

As for White Supremacy, If Obama's church were full of white people they would have called it a KKK meeting. Al Sharpton is nothing more than the black equvialance (sp?) of the KKK leader.

I am sick of being told if you believe in law and order, you are a racist.
If you don't let a liberal do what ever they want, you are a hate monger.
If you don't listen to and whole heartedly believe what a liberal tells you, you are narrow minded.
I am sick and tired of liberals blaming everything on america. They tell us it's our fault we have global warming, it's our fault there are people starving all over the world, it's our fault we are a prosperous people, how dare we succeed when so many others have failed.

If you want to see true discimination, be a middle class white american male.
You don't get any special treatment.
you don't get any special holidays.
you don't get government set asides for your kids to go school.

I am telling you this and I truly mean it.
If things don't start turning around and doing it soon, this country will tear itself apart over the next 30-50 years. We are loosing our heart and our soul. It is being removed, one little bit at a time.

Racism has only been kept alive by people of color!!! People like obama's paster are the only things keeping it alive. Nobody in this country is old enough to have owned a slave. Yet we all are still paying for something that we have no controll over. Just turn on any black comedian and watch as they constantly make white jokes. Have a white person make a comment about blacks and it is national headline news. After 911, the u.s. saw the importance of supporting our country and its people regardless of color. I respect all of our troops no matter what color they are because they are all fighting for a common cause, USA. Illegal immigrants have none of my respect however as they aren't helping our war efforts what so ever and are taking up jobs that our service men could possibly need when their tours are over.

Assuming you are 100% correct that racism is only alive because people of color perpetuate it.....do you think that this thread/attitude helps to eliminate or perpetuate racism? Is racism helpful or harmful?
Personally I think there will always be discrimination and racism because people will always have attitude and ego....as long as we have these "human" traits we will always look at those that appear different and treat them differently or "look down" on them as being inferior to the color of skin we were born in. Pretty darned primitive when you think about it.
Anyone else see the show on DNA testing of the prominent colored actors?? I believe it was Chris Rock, Tina Turner, Morgan Freeman and some others.....VERY interesting results!!!

It is not just people of color that are racist.
As long as there is ego, bad attitudes and envy there will be racism.

That being said.
As long as you have one group (in this case middle class white guys) that is allowed or even encouraged to be made fun of or belittled racism will grow and prosper. If you took a black comedians routine and put a white guy up there with the exact same jokes, just replace white and cracker with black and ******. The guy would be in jail, the place that allowed him to perform would be sued and or closed.

winter brew, this kind of thread if it does nothing else, will point out the obvious truths. As long as racism is allowed by any group or ethnic background, there will be extreme attitudes that will continue to harden with time and the continued discrimination. There is a reason there is an upsurge in the KKK movement. If people didn't feel the need for support, the KKK movement would shrivel and die, not flourish.

But as it turned out, they were innocent, it was actually some black guys that raped the girls. Did Al ever apologize for his comments? NO, and he went on record saying that they didn't deserve an apology and everything he said was still correct.

I'm white, proud of it and I'm not a racist, I give everyone an equal opportunity for me to hate them, regardless of color or beliefs.

How many people remember Imos?
He made a comment about the knappy headed hoes?
Obama was one of the people leading the charge to have him fired, yet his own (self admitted) spiritual advisor spews some of the most vile BS I have ever heard and what doesn Obama say about it??

You have to take it in the proper context and not just one comment. If he and his pastor were white, they would have been discredited and their lives ruined.
