Proposal Ideas

Well you could explain it as simply as God created everything, so obviously He created marriage, and for a reason.

But to get more in depth, Genesis 2:18 says: "The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

I don't know if you're familiar with the story, but it goes on to say how God made Eve out of Adam's rib, and how he responded that she was "bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh," etc.

Then it says: "For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."

Throughout the Bible, God treats this special partnership very seriously. The Bible says in many places how it's wrong in God's eyes to have relations with a man or woman out of wedlock, and to commit adultery, etc. There are many many other details.

I hope this answered your question. Sorry it took so long to get back to you, It's been a busy week!

Oh boy. No offense, but quoting scripture probably isn't going to go very far in this crowd. Usually Fouled Plug is all about making jokes, or telling snowmobilersme he is an idiot. Well, lately anyways. Not hating on God, just sayin.:behindsofa:

Having just celebrated my 41st wedding anniversary last Monday I consider myself somewhat of an authority on this subject. First, if you haven't already been talking about the potential for spending your lives together, you aren't ready. If you have, and you have not identified any "deal breakers" then take her somewhere that she enjoys, and in that comfortable setting, when the time is right (you WILL know when that is) ask her if she would be willing to wake up to your ugly mug every morning for the rest of her life.:face-icon-small-win

My soon to be bride still gives me **** that she had no idea I was going to ask her. Will try to tell you how without boring you.

Well I live out of town (with my parents) and near their house there is a hill that you can see the entire city lit up at night. It's been my place I have gone for years to just relax and think. Well this was our first spot we had our date and sat up there for hours just talking and enjoying each others company. It was in the middle of March when I wanted to ask her to marry me. Only problem is she had a feeling I was going to be asking her so I wanted to find a way to get her up to our spot without her knowing.

So I came up with the idea of telling her the cows got out of our pens and they headed up over towards "our hill" and I needed her to drive the sled while I walked on foot to bring the cows back home. She was completely clue less and actually thought the cows where out when she got to my house. We hopped on the sled and we started going up the hill. When I stopped on our hill she was confused and asked "what our you doing?" When I dropped to one knee she knew exactly what was going on.

After a bit she was a little mad at me for lying to her to get her out there about the cows but in the end she says it was well worth it.

We will be getting married July 21. We are actually in the prosses of buying a manufactured house to be moved out by our hill. Will get to look out my window of my house and have a constant reminder of the days we have shared together in our spot.

Aebsledder I realize that but he asked, so I simply answered.

Mold if you read all the earlier posts on this thread of mine it answers your question.

I really didn't get a positive vibe about the opinion of your proposed bride ("I will make a helper suitable for him") but if all is well in relationship land then I have answered your question.
