proper rpm to idle at

I just rebuilt my 900 fusion with a new short block, ecu, and stator. It all seems to be fine but having trouble setting the idle. I built a tps tool today and reset the tps but it still isn't idling over about 900 rpm's . My buddy's idles at around 2600 so I am thinking that is why I am having some issues. When I take it out in the yard it goes like crazy once you open it up but in the low range it sputters spits and backfires. Any help would be very appreiciated

Proper idle RPM should range from 1450-1750.

Any suggestions as to what else I should try?

once you have set the tps properly, then you can adjust the small allen screw on the side of the throttle bodies to get the desired idle rpm.
