PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT: MUFF POT MOUNT KIT FOR PRO RMK

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
I don't sell these but I did purchase one a few years ago and it works great. Not as hot as the one mounted on my IQ right after the Y pipe but for what options you have for the Pro I feel this one is the best.

So, for the guys that have HPS can or any other can, we buy these and modify them? Or you will have a kit for the guys running can soon?

Thanks,

I pulled the old mount, shield and Muffpot off my sled and tacked in the custom mount, shield and a new Muffpot. The new Muffpot has a little more clearance from the overstructure that the older Muffpot.

Once I do a little grinding on the shield for better fit I will rivet the mount in place. I'll report back once I run the sled to see how it works out.

Sweet man, looks like a great setup. I had mine mounted on the can in about the same place on my doo and loved it, I'll be ordering one from ya shortly:)

Would like to help out those with after market cans. Made a prototype kit for akrevrider that I think will work for him. Just need to find a few local (Anchorage) sleds with different makes of cans for testing.

I'm local with a 12 Pro, Skinz Super-Q can, stock pipe. Pm if you'd like to look, I do want a new shield that's tighter fitting to the can.

I installed a proto unit on m1kflyingtiger's sled has the same can as yours. I don't think he has had time to test but I'm looking forward to hearing from him. The attached photo shows proto. I found that I had to make some adjustments and have a second unit I would like to try. PM me

Is this a dual-use prototype? That appears to be an HPS can rather than a Skinz SuperQ?

Aside from a different muffler, The collector and flange should be identical. Shouldn't be an issue.

Not sure if this will fit all cans before I release will need to try on as many cans as possible. I like yourself thought it was HPS can but was informed it is a Super Q. Went over to A2D and new Super Q's looks like the one m1kflyingtiger's sled. I believe Skinz changed their design for the 2013 and 2014.

No kiddin. I didnt realize the design changed, never had a need to look into it once I put mine on.

Just eyeballing the collector length to the downturn, there should be ample room.

Installed on a 12 Pro. This is awesome !

Bob et al put together a nice package (I bought the pot and mount together). Installed in just a few minutes. Everything worked as we are told it will. Perfect location that allows easy access, clearance with the underhood goggle bag. Just look at all the pics above for examples of the good fit.

Shipped priority mail from AK and arrived in MNPLS 4 days later. Even the orignal muff pot box was used, with a custom cut out for the bracket. This just goes to show the level of care and detail that went into this thing. Great customer service.

Bob, thanks for the great service and product ! Way to go.

Bob was kind enough to throw a few mount kits in his car and we'd get together when possible during the Holidays though seemingly, we have been playing phone tag in the local area. However, yesetrday i hit the local Polaris dealer and found they had the new kit on the shelf. I picked up a few and while I wasnt able to do the 6Hundo, I did put the kit on my 800 w/ Skinz can, the standard kit works.

My only suggested if possible, would be to drop the pot mount down closer to the pipe.. maybe .5-.75 for better heat absorption, plus it will allow me to haul the larger pot which the 6Hundo can't get as hot as I can.

All in all, 5 Stars Bob. The shield will catch a lot more heat than the Gen1 kit, and the rivets are all star, even helped tighten up the latch. No more cracked tabs either.

I had to go back to work before I got a chance to test it, but I will be home the 31st and riding the 1st. I will have a report either the 1st or 2nd on how well she does and how well compared to the standard one for the 600's.

With the stock can it can't be any shorter or it won't clear. In fact, mine actually binds the mount a little when tightened due to the height of the can.

CoolX2. I have installed a prototype on a proclimb had to set in sideways on muffler elbow with out a insulation wrap heating was slow. Not sure if it is ready for sale.
