PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT: MUFF POT MOUNT KIT FOR PRO RMK

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
Ordered the mount kit only and finally got it installed on my '14 Pro 800.

Here you can barely see the block from the pipe to the Muff Pot mount plate.

Now, hopefully enough heat is transferred to the Muff Pot to heat up my Hot Pockets.

Great pic

Nice pictures richracer1. I normally purchase unfrozen burritos in paper wrapper put them in at start of ride (about 10am) in couple of hours they will brown on the bottom.

I got this product last year and was very pleased with it. It held up to some serious boondocking and huge jumps. Took a little longer to cook things than if it was on the y-pipe, but you cant get to the y-pipe on these sleds. this fixes that problem!

pizza rolls and chedder brawts are my fav!!!

Nice! I was wondering how this would hold up to some hard miles.

how about replacement mounting brackets? I have bought two for my cat and the same problem. Broke... I will end up with a stock of cans at this rate..:face-icon-small-dis

Muff Pot Mount & Shield (modded of course)

Here is my Muff Pot Mount & Shield that I had installed last week with some help from AK IQ Pilot. We modded it a little to fit on the GGB Can (Trail Can) that we just installed.

I was able to test it out this weekend cooking up a couple of Hot Pockets on a 3 hour ride. We took more breaks than usual during the ride since I was breaking in the new 2014 QD Belt.

If it was a rip & grin ride, the food would have been hot in one hour. Overall it is a great product and I highly recommend it.

Woodsrider is a standup guy that I was able to meet during last year's IronDog pre-race inspection that I attended as a race spectator.

Broken bracket

Are you saying the Muffpot base plates are breaking or my Woodsrider mount? I did look into making kits for Arctic Cats but did not think they were needed. Woodsrider kit is only made for Polaris PRO models.

Will the "Muff Pot" or the "Woodsrider" bracket interfere with the Polaris goggle bag just above the muffler?

Thanks

goggle bag clearance

The Muffpot with Woodsrider kit will allow clearance to under hood goggle bag. If you have a Assault, Rush or Switchback the RMK style muffler the brake duct will be in the way of Muffpot.

Ok thanks, I should have said it was for a 12 pro rmk.

I will be ordering one soon!

Thanks

Which can

Set up is made for stock muffler. I just made a custom mount and shield for a akrevrider 2 days ago which I believe would work on most aftermarket cans. Stay tuned.

Initially, I had my concerns about this location and getting enough heat to heat anything, well I'm glad to say my hot pocket was good to go considering it was a trail ride day. I'm sure if I was on the throttle more it would've been a really hot pocket.

Would these transfer more heat if a guy packed some aluminum foil in the hole in the bracket? Have not had a chance to cook with mine yet, just throwing it out there.

Aluminum

Not sure it that would transfer more heat but to sure would not impede it. It would be easy to do. Friend tells me that he places a couple layers of foil on top of food then the lid. If we every get enough snow I will have to conduct a side by side test.

Custom mount & shield

I pulled the old mount, shield and Muffpot off my sled and tacked in the custom mount, shield and a new Muffpot. The new Muffpot has a little more clearance from the overstructure that the older Muffpot.

Once I do a little grinding on the shield for better fit I will rivet the mount in place. I'll report back once I run the sled to see how it works out.
