problem with m7 rpms.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the manual turns out to be a few hundred megabytes (ie too big for me to email). I am trying to find a way to set up something as an alternative.

Chris.

Can you use a compression program like winzip or something to make it smaller and email it out? Just a thought as I would like one too if you ever get it figured out. wyod42@hotmail.com. Thanks!

sounds to me that the ECU is already shot.

Does it kinda sputter at that 6800rpm?

I had my ECU go out and it was right around that rpm range and it would kinda sputter out and one cylinder would go dead.

well i tried my buddies ecu off his m7 and still no luck. it did however run fine after a while but when i fired it up the next day it was back to the way it was. it seems like it surges around the 6800 to 7000. could it be the coil? and how would i check it?

Speaking of power valves.....

I pulled my power valves and cleaned them last week. Do I need to worry about the lengths of the power valve cables since I pulled the power valves out? I did not disconnect the cables in any way, just unbolted the whole power valve assembly and pulled out to clean carbon build up off of the power valves.
Sorry if it seems like I am hijacking your post Gibsons, just wanted to ask the question about the power valves and their cable controllers.

what about the tail light short if you have the stock tail light and bumper pull it apart and look or any bare wires al the way back there and inside the cover good luck. Only other thing i would look for clucth problems flat rollers ect

no mod's except a fuel pressure valve and gauge which is at 45. and the exaust is stock as well as the can.

I don't know what stock fuel pressure is, but when my sled displayed the same symptoms, it was fat on the top end with the twin pipes I had. 6800rpm was like hitting a wall or rev limiter.

My cervo motor was bad on mine. Put it on a stand. take the cervo cover off. Rev it wide open and see what the cervo is doing. If it don't move, you got a problem. Good luck.

service manual

I have the 05 service manual if anyone wants it post up your email addy.

To me this problem sounds power valve--although it should be going closer to 7100ish with valves closed I would think... Take the cables off and pull them open and see if the sled revs up all the way.

Have you run the sled at all without the headlights plugged in? Could also be an ECU issue. If you have another sled to test your ecu on try that but DO NOT put a different ECU on YOUR sled.

Chris.

I will gladley take a copy of that service manual if you are still offering! I have spent the last week working on my sled without one and now remember how great they realy are.

There is a good possibility, since you had them out, that you have the guillotines in upside down.. This will kill rpms.. Pull them both out and make sure that the highly Beveled side is pointed DOWN towards the belly pan.. many put them in with the bevel up and this is not correct.

Worth a shot..
