So there seems to be a lot of threads in this forum with different issues concerning the new pro rides. Most seem to be engine issues with cut out issues at various rpm's. It is quite obvious almost everyone loves the sled and the chassis but lots are having engine issues. I want to snow check for 2012 but am reluctant due to these issues that have not been figured out yet. Just want to get a feel for how many people are actually running with no issues or very few issues.
Thanks Guys

I think if you look close the problems are just on a few sleds. And they seem to be getting this figured out. Don't be shy about a snow check you wont regret it.

miniscule not lots

Mine's been down for two weeks but just picked it up yesterday and will test-run this afternoon to see if it's fixed now. Like a few others, mine has had an electronics glitch. It's a pain because the sleds are so new and even the best dealers are still trying to catalogue the common issues. For the time being, it's like searching for a needle in a haystack. I suspect that in the coming months many of the issues will get sorted and most of the pain being felt right now is part of being an early adopter.

there are more posts of people enjoying their new pro and loving the engine and chassis, read them all. also the etechs have problem threads example would be belt eating, and the m series have the same threads with problems too. most people's etechs aren't eating belts, most m-series are running strong, and most pros are running flawless. mainly the bad ones get a lot of attention.

Had an injector issue and it was taken care of at the dealer 3 rides ago. NO problems since. I wouldn't believe the same injector issue would be around for 2012. I would say that 70% or more of those with any motor problems had the same injector problems. It is one thing to have problems and get them fixed and another to have a problem and pretend the problem doesn't exist. Polaris has been fixing them and by 2012 model year I would think they would be even more rock solid than they already are.

By the way, rode Seeley Lake last weekend and had a younger guy on a bright yellow 2010 or 2009 800 Scud stop and talk to me. I let him take the Pro for a ride. He came back, looked at his friend and stated, "You still interested in buying my sled from me?" I think that pretty much sums it up in my book. These sleds are the total package.

Love the PRO

So far I love mine.

Only issue so far is a bent lower A-arm, however I did hit a rock pretty hard. Bulkhead was fine.....much rather replace a-arms than bulkheads. Going with Holx A-arms.

Again, great sled

1100+ miles

1,100 plus MOUNTAIN miles on the Pro: (I'm knocking on wood as I type this)

Sled rips.

Only issues have been minor and have not ruined a ride:
1.) Oil cap allowed oil to leak out when sled rolled-- the engineers did a good job of designing the belt cover, although there was oil everywhere the belt was dry. Rode the rest of the day and the belt and clutches had no oil on them. Dealer warranteed the cap
2.) Electric starter motor hose clamp vibrated loose twice, makes a horrible noise-- popped the hood on the side of the trail tightened the clamp and fixed it. Second time it happened, I bent the strap up behind the clamp--hopefully stopping it from backing out.
3.) First fuel tank it stopped like I hit the kill switch or pulled the tether-- I may have done either, still not sure but it has not happened since

I let the sled warmup to 120 degrees before I take off in the morning and also during the day. When I stick the sled, I start it before I have it totally free to make sure that it is 120 degrees again before I flog it wide open.

I also vary the rpm a bunch when I ride to avoid lean overheating

Snowcheck the 2012-- You won't regret it.

I would say so far there are far fewer issues popping up for a 1st year sled than I assumed....

Personally, mine hasn't missed a beat.

2012 Pro's... Will Rock!!

Loving the new sled..

Yes.. oil cap.. funny angle.. Make sure you get it tight..

Make sure the Gas Is full... Pull cord.. wait. till warm and Ride all Day..

And Want to ride the Next Day!!!!!

you bring up a good point, i haven't had a recall yet! when i ordered my 2003 F7 i think i had a recall before the sled got here, followed by a ton more throughout the winter.

Mine has never missed a beat runs perfect. Only problem so far is found part of a motormount floating around under the clutches. I did smoke a tree with the bumper last weekend, we bent the bumper back straight no plastic damaged.

Almost 500 mountain miles on my 163LE and it has been flawless

650 miles now.

Only repairs have been adding Zbroz front end (I bent both lower A-arms hitting rocks). I also put conduit over switch wires by the steering post to prevent rubbing.

The only service bulletin that I know of has been for oil lines but mine weren't rubbing, kinked nor had an air bubble bigger than 1/4 inch
("normal").

So, everything is A+ so far...knock...knock. Everyone else's mileage may vary though. 2012 should be even better.

Thanks for the posts so far guys. Good to see that there are very few people so far that are really having issues. I understand most of the issues that are out there are quite minor and elctronic but coming from a 2005 rmk 600 and currently a 2007 rmk 660 that have never had a single issue I guess i am just hoping for the same experience with the next sled. Really just want to go to some more power and get away from the jetting. Sure looking forward to next year.
Thanks

Hey, can a mod or someone post who voted for what? Shouldn't be an issue if you own a Pro. I'd like to know who is voting for, "This thing is getting very frustrating" and not giving any details. I'd like to hear about any issues or potential issues, but I have a feeling the guys voting on that are not riding Pro's if you know what I mean.

While my post the the thread was, hopefully, decidedly level headed. I did respond to the poll that my sled is becoming very frustrating.

Tonight I picked up my sled from the dealer for the 3rd time and after a thorough warm-up it didn't even make it out of the parking lot before the crapola hit the fan again. If this were a car, this would be a lemon-law situation and we'd be done. I've got 150 miles, 4 times to the dealer, taken off from work twice this week to deal with this same problem. What's worse is that while I met what seem to be a couple of pretty good Polaris engineers today and have a very supportive dealer, it seems that perhaps Polaris Corp is leaving me hung out to dry. The "fixes" keep coming in the form of "just giggle those wires and send it back out to the customer" rather than digging in and replacing hard parts. I have a BRAND NEW sled and it doesn't run and I don't see efforts in good faith towards making it run on Polaris' part. The GM of the dealership and Polaris engineers are now directly involved but we'll see what happens next. I can't sell this POS because it doesn't run and I can't seem to get it fixed.

STOKED you guys are enjoying your sleds, I really am, and I understand that all these toys sometimes break. But I feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick here. Lots of excuses, no running sled...

Anyway, that's my reason for the negative poll post.

EDIT: It's also worth mentioning that thanks to the help of a few members on this site, since day 1 of these issues, I've been armed with info on the common issues. On the very first trip to the dealer (2 dealers involved at this point) and each subsequent, we've talked about various known issues like the throttle saftey switch in injectors. This is a benefit that a dealer might not always have.

That's a bummer about your sled. You stated it was an electronics glitch...what exactly is it doing?
Mine had the bog issue that everyone else seems to be having. Took it in Saturday, they figured out I had injector problems. It's supposed to be ready for me to pick up tomorrow morning. If that fixes it I'll be stoked and will post results.

I should clarify that I "think" it's an electronics glitch of some sort. At this point, it's still not resolved. So far, the TPS has been replaced and all of the wiring/connectors have been gone through, checked, reseated, and regreased. Last time around, they found that the cap that connects the plug wire to the plug on each plug was approx 1/2 way unscrewed from the wire that it contacts inside the plug wire boot. I suspect the throttle safety switch will be replaced next. If that fixes it, will be a double-edged sword. I'll be stoked to have my sled but I've been pointing out the TSS since day one on the advice of a few members of this board so I'll be pretty pissed if it was that simple fix drawn out for 2.5 weeks and counting...
