Pro chassis tool storage?

I'm the guy in our group that typically carries enough tools to cover most scenarios. Has anyone found a spot, preferably under the hood, that works well?

I pop riveted my polaris tool bag to the bottom of the belly pan. I was thinking of removing that and putting a pelican case that fits a tool roll. And other things cause it gets wet, and if the belt blows it wont rip the bag off.

I like to carry lots of tools too.... The last 2 seasons I was using the polaris under hood bag that's supposed to keep gloves and goggles dry lol. I built a roll that would just barely fit in.

Do you use a tunnel bag at all? I'm like you and wanna carry stuff to get us up and going so we are able to get back. I was gonna put my tools in my tunnel bag. Is there anything wrong with that besides a few lbs on the back?

I like to keep the tunnel bag for more often used items. Extra gloves, water, etc...

I see. You have or use an under the seat bag. You could fit the basics under there. Just another option for you. But your probably looking for spots other than the standard places.

An under hood tool bag would be really nice. I keep my tools and my water (the 2 heaviest things I carry) in the tiny polaris under-seat bag. I end up carrying way too much crap in my backpack, and it gets heavy at the end of the day.

Great storage option

Go to powderkegllc.com. I've had one for about 3 years now. Sandwiches, water bottles, tool roll, extra gloves, etc. It all fits! It's a little pricey, but it doesn't wear like canvas bags. I've never had anything get wet either. It easily attaches/detaches for easy packing and unpacking, but it is mounted very solid.
Check it out.

My tool bag is a canvas zip up bag, about 5x8x2 and I keep it in a tunnel bag along with a spare quick drive belt. I actually have 3 bags on the tunnel, the Polaris under seat bag for water and food, a roll down water tight powder keg for extra gloves, shirt, socks, first aid kit and then a polaris shovel bag that hold my tools, extra quick drive belt, and extra water.

If you dont want to go the bag route a tool bag can be bungee strapped in several places under the hood. Foot wells have always been a good place to stuff something you dont need all the time. Eric

I have an under the seat bag for my tools, and run a holeshot bag on my tunnel, for all my other crap.

I too use a canvas zip up bag. But I had issues with them getting iced up so I put the bag in a large zip lock bag then stuff it in my under seat bag. I've also gotten to the point that I spray my tools with a light coat of wd-40 or something else to help keep rusting off.
