THEN ALL IS WELL, NOTHING TO FEAR.

The problem with most of these sites are lurkers who don't post..

NOw you go spreading all the posts out in super special sub catergories and throw in a treadmill...it becomes even easier to not participate.

So the whole active number is complete BS...when all you have to do to be active is open a SW page sometime during that day.

Everytime I turn on my computer it opens pages here and other sites I frequent, but sometimes I don't even look at them....does that make me an active user for that day?

Please post up some numbers of users who actually made a post on that day. Now that is what I would consider an active user. I would think you would see the numbers move alot closer.

I don't normally track active users for the day, but let me see what the database has in it.
We track people who are on the site at the moment.
If you are logged into your account, then it shows you as an active member, or if you are just viewing a page, then as a guest.

Yesterday there were 2,761 registered SnoWest members who logged into their accounts at some point over the 24 hour period. Based on the current guest to member ratio, we had over 5,000 unique people on SnoWest yesterday.

We had 22 new members join the site who had unique IP addresses.

We had 147 new threads created.

And we had 769 new posts made.

While not the busiest day on record, neither was it a horrible day.
Its not even Fall yet, and I am sure things will continue to pick up as the weeks/months roll bye.

I have no plans of going over to the
Butt
Crack
Rapers
site.

Still, I miss the old days when you could kill an evening bouncing between "Fouled Plug" & "General Snowmobiling".
Those were the days!

You will probably see a lot more activity here in fouled plug this season.

Yesterday we made this forum open to unlimited Reading and Posting.
So all our basic members have unlimited access to all the threads here.

Still trying to find a happy medium that balances things out for everyone.

Hmmmmm....

Currently over at BCR...

Currently Active Users: 82 (53 Rebels and 29 guests)

Most users ever online was 367, 01-19-2010 at 11:20 PM.

Stay and play on SW , Mafesto....nobody is draging you away.

I agree , the "old days " on SW were great and I miss them too.
..there were some funny threads.

What I dont understand is your disdain for BCR...

Well, here is your opportunity to fire one up.

Everything is pretty chill on SW right now.
And there is plenty of room to have a good time.

As long as things don't get ugly, you might be pleasantly surprised at how much latitude the moderators will cut you this year...:beer;

Sorry Christopher, Im not biting...Im having alot of fun over at BCR.

I will say that SW does have the best sled classifieds section at this point in time.

If your having fun over there, more power to ya.

If your hanging out on both forums, good for you.

If your visiting all of the snowmobile forums on the net, even better!

The point is to enjoy your time while you have time to enjoy!!

I think all of those social networking websites like Facebook, MySpace, etc and the increase in number of Snowmobile/ATV/Automotive websites are really affecting the old timer sites like this one. People have more to chose from so all sites are seeing numbers going up and down depending on what's trendy today.

Have fun!
