PRC Forced Induction crankshaft mod

you used the PRC mod? I am the designer of the mod in question, prior mods of this type were effective to a point but the designer didn't take it to the next step. I spent 5 years developing the angles and pitch of the veins being cut to optimize the charge being directed toward the transfer port and it does produce power increases across the entire RPM range, not just above 10,000. I would like the opportunity to see what my design can produce in your 809?

Do you do a different angle and pitch depending on motor then? The transfers are in different locations or orientations for a Doo vrs a Cat vrs a Poo and also depending on which size motor.

These were exactly my thoughts, and I already asked and got an answer above. He said he uses the same geometry on all motors.

NICE..

i need to read the article yet..would be very interesting t ride before and after the mod and see how it performs from "seat of the pants"

here is the website..

GSXR..never been to your shop before, but maybe this summer i will come check it out..did you know my moms cousin by chance..lived there in bozeman, owned Team Bozeman Motorsports..Cliff Gullet..who past away a few months ago in utah setting the land speed record..did you work with him much?

ANYWAYS...would be interested in this mod if i could get some "feel" or some testominals you know..HAVE YOU DONE AN RMK 900 YET??

hmmm... :)

I knew cliff and he was an awesome guy and is greatly missed. My dad remembers him from like 30 years ago when he bought his first tool box from Cliff.

Anyways, I might have you do a little work for me this summer if I decide to dump the 800 VES.

Yes i knew Cliff,i worked for him at TEAM BOZEMAN for a few months. I have not yet done a big bore RMK yet,the smaller Polaris motors work well with the design.

the $350 for each cylinder, is that the price if i where to send you the crank or does that include the the tear down and assembly?

I saw that you did an RM250 with good gains. What would an Athena KX144 feel like with the crank mod, what does "eliminates the powerband" feel like. Thanks, I saw the ad in SW and thought I should get a new crank for the 144 to try it out instead of doing a sled.

GSX....

I assume that your mod only works on full circle crank throws...

On the 900's (975's) the throws are "pork chop" shape....

Even on the half billet cranks from IndyDan (torquemasters) the middle two throws are porkchop shape...

I know that you have to charge for your R&D..... but $700 per twin cyl engine would keep most people out of your market.

Snake oil? un known untill we see real proof sounds great though if true. Mountain horse i disagree with it's to expensive. with a 150 horse twin you would gain22.5 hp at 15% for 700, plus tare down compared to other mods to get that kind of power seems like a great deal if proven. i would send in my 1200 wc and have it done. Keep us posted.

In this age of "tornado" air inlets that give 10% increase in power, Chips that "increase mileage and power by 30%", in line fuel magnets that help to atomize fuel better....

You have to agree that there is certainly good reason, in this day and age, to be skeptical of this crank mod giving a noticeable increase in power.

If you mod does work as claimed or even gives a 10% increase in power on an independent dyno, on the same engine…same pipe and fuel conditions…same day… same temp and baro conditions…. Only changing the crank then your shop will be the busiest shop out there.

So yes hardass, if it gives 15% increase in power output from the average modern 800cc Twin sled engine.... it will be one of the best values in performance mods to date.

I'd like to see someone like Dale Cutler, Jack Struthers or Indy Dan endorse this product... then I'd have it done to all my sleds.

With almost a dyno in each town these days why not do a before and after dyno session? Of course including A/F, BSFC, EGT and engine temp.

If it truly works you have everything to gain by doing it.

Like MH said if this were,is or could be real You would be the most booming buisness in the sledding world.

we are currently gearing up for a test on Andrew Johnstad's race sled IQ600 Race, he will be taking it to Straitline Performance in the next few days for testing to show that we are in fact getting good gains from the mod.
We have done porkchop cranks,we have done the Ski-Doo 800R,ArcticCat SnoPro600 Race,we have put the mod in almost every crank configuration out there. No failures so far and we have been developing this for 5 years.
I wouldn't put $8000 into a patent for something that doen't work.

I just ordered a crank for my 144, CrankWorks is doing a 2mm stroke on it also, when I get it Im sending it to Bozeman. When you true the crank, is that the same as balancing it. I have dyno sheets as it is now and Id like to compare your mod with that, but with a 2mm stroke that wont be comparable.
