In good cold weather untracked powder, the Powder Claw is the best for sleds under 200 hp. Any sled pushing 200 will not see much gain. Then the 2.5'' Extreme is a better choice and for higher hp the stiffer Extreme could be used.
Some of these guys are talking about stiffer or heavier snow. Low alt. Snow is heavy, like warmer snow. Next to the ocean in Alaska, many of these guys don't even need long tracks.

At high alt. and cold conditions the snow is very loose. Longer Powder Claw type tracks are great. Especially for stock HP sleds. High HP will fold over the lugs too much and they don't work like they are supposed to.

Turning the PC arround is an effort to get a high hp sled to hook up. Bad trencher. I personally prefer the Extreme 162'' for my 200hp sled. Love the PC on my stock M-8. For spring I turn the Extreme arround, but leave the M-8 alone.
